    That's not really strange...it just reflects the fact there are no reward seats. These are regular choice or business fares converted to points...they have only ever been bookable as VA flight numbers.

    Historically, Velocity has been one of SQ's "special friends". How many other programs have an ability to transfer points to Krisflyer and v/v? But maybe that's over?

    It is definitely due to these awards being pulled from Velocity. You will not find a single DIRECT business class award on MEL-SIN or SYD-SIN in the next 330 days. And not a single PER-SIN DIRECT in any class. I'm only highlighting direct here because often people think they've seen something...

    Correct. A travel agent won't be able to make this happen. TAs can piece together international multicity that the VA website does not allow...they can't just disregard the fare rules and agreement for VA codeshare. Bet you can't.

    Apparently this also affects other partners that had good access to SQ business class e.g. Air Canada Aeroplan...so like the UA issue, it is not VA specific. Velocity clearly has / has had a bit of a special relationship with SQ...I've always wondered if the QR investment would change...

    If you have UA miles though...clearing the upgrade list at USD600 + 30k miles (from discount economy) is pretty much a sure thing before the doors close at some point.

    Your ability to get VA flight numbers will run out by the time you reach US east coast...if they are even available at all if your plan is to try and get all this on a RTW ticket. I really doubt that the VA numbers would be able to be ticketed as part of that.
