In your situation, I’d jump onto the SQ website and find a flight with a connection that suits you ( a day either side), call them up and ask to be rebooked. Once they do then call VA to have the ticket reissued.
Yes, please don’t think that because you’re now Gold, that you’re “all that”. You’re just gold - with whatever gold gives you. Qantas likes to ensure you think it’s a lot more than what they actually offer.
