Tried signing up the basic with the above code and the 5-day trial and keep getting a 'Failed to process subscription'. Tried both desktop and smartphone, and three different cards. Any help please? EDIT: Oh the promo code is only for the premium…

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

Welcome to posting and hope you’ll share some more insights - with those numbers of FFPOs per golden triangle flight I’m nowhere near as special as I thought I was!

Free QF general lounge invitation expiring Monday 1 December 2025

The pass has been transferred to RisingPhoenix. I wish I could have given out passes to the others, it's not that they didn't deserve them. I'll see how my other passes go, there might be more next year.

Free QF general lounge invitation expiring Monday 1 December 2025

If you PM your details you can have it. The T&Cs say to allow at least 24 hours but in my experience it can be done immediately.

Free QF general lounge invitation expiring Monday 1 December 2025

I have one Qantas General lounge pass to give away which expires Monday 1 December 2025. If you are interested, post in this thread - do not PM. Strong preference for long-standing and contributing members. Once I nominate the recipient, naturally you'll need to provide your surname and QFF #.

    "The co-pilot slept in"

Indeed, quite apart from not making bomb jokes, while us frequent flyers might like the jokes and it can take the tension out of the chaos and delays, there are some first-time, nervous or stressed flyers who won't find them funny at all.

Free Lounge Pass expiry 1st Dec

The lucky recipient will need to supply their FF number and surname so the system can process and confirm the transfer. As always nice gesture donating a pass here.

    Incorrect panicked instructions to passengers

It seems to be reported in The Australian but I don’t have a subscription to read the details. Agree with your point re QF.

    "The co-pilot slept in"

IMHO It's likely a joke in the vein of the old Virgin flair (which might be backfiring) and if a pilot did actually sleep in it probably wouldn't be admitted as such.

Recent status run from Australia to NZ return

It might depend on the times of your arrival and departure. When I arrived in AKL late one night, transit was closed so I had to clear immigration, go landside and wait a few hours before going airside for my flight back in the morning. @DejaBrew did a bunch of runs there not long ago and might...

Qatar Lounge Bangkok before Qantas flight

I've had no problems accessing the Qatar and Cathay lounges there a couple of months ago flying QF business.

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Probably not flying QF somehow, and the CL doesn't provide anytime access any more? Not that I've been in the Beyond lounge there but that's closed down.

United Airlines argues ‘window seat’ does not mean ‘seat with a window’

Extremely disingenuous for UA to claim a window seat doesn't mean a window. We ought to counter-claim that paying for our tickets doesn't mean we'll pay the full amount, or before the flight, or to UA...

Qantas no status points for missed or cancelled flights

See my post here to someone else who was asking about VA status credits but the same principles apply. https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/threads/status-of-status-credits-for-a-no-show.121374/post-2933650

Status of status credits for a "no show"

Just on your original and repeated question, my best guess is SCs are designed as a measure of how much you've actually flown with an airline ('bum in seat'), not how much money you've spent with them as a prospective, good-faith intention to fly. There are some ways to spend money with an...

    Ask The Pilot

In general could one of the time pressures be pilots (inappropriately) trying to beat a curfew or running out of hours? I guess pilots are human too and they also hate delays and a late finish just as much as passengers, but the above might be more airline ops specific?

    QF Platinum Recognition on flights

I (P1) and my companions (platinum) rarely get a special welcome, domestic or international, Y or J. More often than not it'll be a quick 'Welcome back' upon boarding and then no special treatment at all.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Darn, would QF release some later on? I'm going to be in the market for a couple too.

    MEL taxi scam

In the international arrivals hall yesterday, there was a huge electronic billboard warning people not to accept taxi rides and that they weren't authorised. A terrible first impression (aside from the huge queues for the SmartGate kiosks). I remain convinced they could do something about it but...
