What address service did you use with cap1? They don’t like myUS.

DEFT rent payment on amex - earn points?

Looks like the Coles Gift MasterCard no longer is on sale which is a shame. I’m also interested in any other offers going around.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I set up mine a long time ago. At the time, I called HSBC’s International Banking Centre and made an appointment to go over my application over the phone. Not sure if this has changed much since the restructure of HSBC’s US offering to Premier only. I got the number from HSBC AU so might need...

AMEX Platinum Charge Benefits - Q&A

100% I agree. The Australian is cheaper which is why they substituted it. The Australian isn’t in keeping with the ‘brand’ they’re trying to cultivate. My 2 cents worth …

AMEX Platinum Charge Benefits - Q&A

I think there are more fee hikes coming as Amex foreshadowed this at their most recent results. https://thriftytraveler.com/news/credit-card/amex-ceo-more-fee-hikes/ Looks like there’s a strong appetite for premium cards and the AFs that come with them.

Issues with Bpay Payments to Westpac Cards - Delayed

I’ve not had any issues. Usually BPay from a Westpac account though- not sure if that’s an issue. I recall Macquarie said they’d withhold BPay deposits to their cash management account for 3 days - presumably so the funds would clear. Assuming that’s the case with Westpac. Which bank are you...

    Further Reduction to Centurion benefits.

I wonder what exactly the value proposition is. The RM is a nice person and all but can’t do much outside of book travel. I didn’t use this benefit and I’m assuming not enough people did so it’s gone. Some other benefits would be nice to differentiate Centurion from Platinum - there’s a fair AF...

    RewardPay Alternatives

Sounds like the nature of the definitions they're using captures nearly everything under the "business" net rather than the "personal" net. Whilst this will likely lead to lower use of this platform for payments, hopefully it will be sufficient extra revenue to prevent Amex from further...

HSBC Star Alliance credit card in Australia

I didn't realise HSBC offer any business cards (business liability or otherwise) as IME they're very reluctant to on-board any customer who even remotely smells like a business customer. I have a family trust account with them and that took some doing. When I closed a company account whose sole...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

I guess churning with AMEX is going to be harder now they're targeting Churners in their decline decisions based on other reports on AFF.

Might find an alternative address to move to from Sarasota first. Thanks for your advice.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Just received a more comprehensive p[re-approval email from C1 so I gave it a go. I want the Venture Card to use as my daily non-AMEX driver given the 2x spend mutiple across all categories. This is one of the cards offered (usually, there's a very small selection but this time, it looks like...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I opened mine last year and was able to do so with ITIN - also got the welcome bonus - helps to pay AF on my gold card. Reading up thread, it sounded like you need to pay a second AF not to antagonize Amex with closure after the first year. Did I understand that correctly? Aside from the...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

That’s a good result. Hopefully they keep it going. Assuming that they may look at this at some point. Shame it’s once a year especially with the $A cratering.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Yak Pay also offer these features - I think it's a feature to enter the market now.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I've found they've refused to refund it - assuming they've had too many over payments and requests for refunds. They will only refund to the source or if your accountant tells them (at a rate for the accountant's services which likely exceeds the value of the points by doing this in the first...

    Qantas Premier Titanium card

All the ones I’ve used over the years aren’t any better than Googling yourself. Guess that’s the path Amex platinum has taken. Notionally, Centurion haven’t done that yet …

    Qantas Premier Titanium card

Not sure Centurion will have what you’re looking for either … they’re apparently good travel agents according to them. YMMV

    AMEX Platinum Concierge Gone

I think Amex have been milking it in AU for some time and as competition continues to fall away (like Diners who weren't really competition but were the only other Charge card) they don't need to do quite as much to retain that leadership. I'm not quite so sure we'll get anything to replace it...
