    Emirates Restores Melbourne-Singapore Connection

Well, this is mildly annoying. As I‘m on an award ticket, I cadged a ride out with my dad and his partner who I’ll join in Catania after my F odyssey. I was hoping to drop my bags and go to the Qantas F lounge in MEL but unfortunately, one can only check-in three hours before departure (rather...

The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

MXP-JFK and ATH-EWR (and vv) are pretty low too.

The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

No - to taste. AIUI, they put the remainder of the bottles from F flights into the F lounges, so hoping I'll find a diamond in the rough (or two or three ;)). 1711070509 Yup. Daytime flight too so you can max out the F experience. 107,700 points and $S85...

The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

SIN-MEL is still only $S85 for an F award.

The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

Yup - 13 hours in SIN so I plan to pop into town to see the Battlebox (WW2 British HQ) before returning to the QF Flounge. Then 8 hours of flounging in DXB so intend to go hunting for wine there (as I have so much time to kill, I'll try the lounges in both the A and C concourses; I think the B...

The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

Thanks for posting. I'm flying on EK355 on Sunday as part of my 44 hour MEL-SIN-DXB-FCO F odyssey so that's probably what I'll get on my flight too. 1711066714 My MEL-SIN-DXB-FCO flight was 227.5K points and $1895.07 in taxes and (extortionate) carrier charges.

Points Club Classic Reward flight not showing as an eligible flight. Should it be?

Except those T&Cs don't mention anything about them counting as segments (not that I'm complaining :)):

Points Club Classic Reward flight not showing as an eligible flight. Should it be?

Maybe not retention, but I can say that as a PC member, classic reward flights on QF from MEL to WGA via SYD qualified as my four segments for getting silver status for the first time earlier this year. Basically, if it earns status credits and it's QF or JQ-operated, it qualifies it seems.

Citi Ready Credit - 70k Velocity points with $500 balance transfer

Well, that's what they've said, so yes. You're not entitled to credit, and applying for a lot of credit products in a short time is seen as a high risk...

Citi Ready Credit - 70k Velocity points with $500 balance transfer

    1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Yes Not too good to be true - it's the last days of disco Citibank. Gotta get your snout in the trough while you still can. ;) (Even better was when they offered 2.9% balance transfers on top of the bonus points - I have $50k of my mortgage tied up in Ready...

Rex launches its own frequent flyer program (in October 2023)

So it seems that Rex still has a few teething troubles with RexFlyer. The system has not credited my points for the seat selection I paid for on a flight I took a week or so ago. Not sure I can be bothered kicking up a stink for 75 points (5x$15), but still a little annoying...

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates.

It's slightly OT given that QF only runs ratty A330s or squishy 787s to Japan, but you do need to try JL's 787. It's a very comfy config at 18.9" width and a decent seat pitch too, which I don't think is too far off Qantas' premium economy seat width on the A380 (19.5"?). As an aside, I wish...

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

Sadly, no dice on my $50 MEL-SYD bid. Loads were pretty solid on my flight with the footy and a long weekend looming.

Did you enter the EK PNR (rather than the QF PNR)?

    EK seat selection

It should be there straight after booking. If you booked through QF, note that there's a separate PNR for EK.

Citi Ready Credit - 70k Velocity points with $500 balance transfer

    1. Qualify for what? A payment's a payment. I just used internet banking to transfer to MacBank, and then to transfer the balance back to my then-Citi home loan (got in at the death of the 2.9% balance transfer offer). 2. I've mostly used BPay in the past few months, but direct transfers to the...

    Points value (paying for)?

Citi PayAll was good when free. With a 0.95% service fee, it doesn't really make sense for pure points-chasing (there are other cheaper points through credit card churning and wine). It depends on what sort of return you can get on the $800 between when the rent's due and when you have to pay...

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

Got a 'you've been outbid' email from Rex this morning. Am flying MEL-SYD on Thursday and have bid $50 so just above the minimum. I'm not desperate for an upgrade to J as it's a $99 fare and I'm booked into seat 3A for a further $15. Seat map is showing 5 J seats free (not the most reliable...
