Earn up to 110 Qantas Status Credits on the ground

Yeah - I didn't get the 1000 bonus points as, even though I hadn't had a Binge account for more than 12 months, it was existing. I had to set up a fresh account to get the 1000 points from Kayo instead.

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

Awesome! I have a SYD-CHC/CHC-SYD EK F joyride coming up after Christmas so it's great to hear you had a good time. I'm hoping they've got Dom P2 on board (there have been reports on the Flyertalk EK wine thread that it's loaded on some flights but 'off the books').

10 minutes or so. So I called up and the change was processed... and a change fee and telephone booking fee was charged! So another email has been sent off requesting a refund of the points... Sigh... 😞

    Skyteam Status Discussion

Probably the only reason to choose VN Gold is if you fly in Vietnam domestically. As Elite Plus only covers international lounges (there are some domestic lounges available now including HAN and SGN, but not all), if there other VN lounges in Vietnam, VN Gold might give access where GA platinum...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Well, they may offer some card payments with a surcharge (e.g. Amex) and others surcharge-free (e.g. Visa/Mastercard). As others have noted, if they're applying card surcharges to all cards, that's a problem.

Inconsistent QFF points given on Partner Airline

I'd email the boarding pass to [email protected] and argue that you're due for 715 points. (Sometimes, PE can merely be a glorified seat selection rather than a separate category of fare. Perhaps the system can cope with a ticket married to a business segment, but not where it's...

Inconsistent QFF points given on Partner Airline

You need to find the booking class of the flights, which aren't on that... (EDIT Looking on Matrix ITA, economy books into L while business is I, Z or D. No premium economy. I suspect what's happened here is that you've been sold a premium economy ticket on a plane that doesn't have premium...

The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Grrrr... Got a notification tonight that a SYD-MEL flight I'd booked in J to try the A321XLR had its timing changed - and swapped to a 738 in the process. Went to change flight, but then realised I needed to check which flights now had the A321XLR, so I backed out of the change process and...

    Skyteam Status Discussion

As far as I can tell, Garuda is one of the easiest Skyteam airlines to obtain Elite Plus status on (along with Air Europa). It requires 30,000 miles initially and 25,000 to renew (if I'm reading this correctly). By contrast, to get Elite Plus on VN requires 50,000 miles. BUT VN's Skyteam's Elite...

The question of the quantum of fines is also irrelevant to the matter at hand. The question is who should be fined.

Earn up to 110 Qantas Status Credits on the ground

Folks needing to complete 'fuel and cars' should check their emails. This morning, I got a (possibly targeted) email from Qantas inviting me to activate an offer with BP for 3x250 points for three visits (no minimum spend it seems) by 31 January. Time to go and buy a few more bags of chips...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

The question of whether or not fines can be contested was, and remains, irrelevant to the discussion at hand and I don't understand why you're making such a big thing about it... The original quote by @Brissy1 was "I presume APRA (like Courts) can choose to fine directors personally, but...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

There really isn’t! This is one of the more silly hills I’ve seen people want to die on. Should @Brissy1 have said ‘issue an infringement notice to’ rather than ‘impose a fine on’? Sure, but we got the idea. At the end of the day, both result in a person being penalised financially which is the...

Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

When you buy a QF codeshare on Emirates, Qantas is basically selling a seat on EK in the capacity of an agent. Yes, they dress it up with a few more loyalty frills and perks (seat selection! status credits! more points!), but at its core, when you buy a QF8xx_ flight, Qantas is acting as a...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

Semantics much? In the legal lingo, one is a court-imposed pecuniary penalty while one is a pecuniary penalty paid as a consequence of receiving an infringement notice. But both examples are 'fines' though in the popular lingo.
