I disagree with one aspect...sudoer should not have asked for 5K KrisFlyer miles for the lack of inflight WiFi...I would wait and see what the airline offered, hopefully more than 5K miles which is a pittance tbh.

Thanks for the heads up Matt! Am flying J to Palau in Oct, and back in Y. Given checkin closes early in Palau, my best bet I guess is to get a breakfast box from the hotel as you ae leaving or will need to buy some food to bring onboard!

I got the US Amex Aspire card (read the long thread!) and for an annual fee of US$550, get Hilton Diamond status. You could also get the Amex Marriot equivalent for US$650 annualy I believe.

Unless you have Priority Pass or an Amex card which gives you access to the Amex lounge, you are out of luck!

And if flight is delayed or cancelled, you will hopefully be automatically put on same new flight!

We did this flight yesterday: Qf 27 --> KL 702. With flight retimings, our transit at Scl was down to 1 hr 40 mins....meaning any delay on the inbound would risk our connection at Scl. We departed Syd 5 mins late but arrived in Scl 30 mins early....it took just under 30 mins to walk at normal...

Flew Syd-Scl yesterday on Qf....whilst 13 hours of no connectivity to outside world was not an issue for me, it will not be great for lots of business / working people. Qf lift your game and get inflight WiFi fir your international routes asap!

Nice review. Is the A330 neo flying Syd to Kul? I could manage this in Y (just) on a daytime flight :) Edit: Just remembered +1 flew the neo in J from Syd to Kul in October...I remember her showing me her photos....the J product looked quite nice!

A mate and I spent a long WE of 3 nights in Timor Leste last September. We flew Syd-Drw-Dil in Qf Y using Qf points...We spent 2 nights in Dili and 1 night in Balibo...it was a very interesting trip full of (recent) history. We had a private guide :) NB: no night landings or takeoffs from Dil :)

Need to warn you about MK...they don't have enough planes and often there are last minute cancellations and significant delays! They said they will pay for a hotel night and dinner when our evening flight from Mru to Per was delayed til the next morning. Took 3+ months of chasing them to...

No longer bother with Va status.i get lounge access via *A gold with Aeeroplan. QF plat gives me F lounge access esp at Syd and OW network, award releases, Checkin at Qf F desk at Syd
