Jetsmart from Aep to Asn assigned me a middle seat 1/2 way back and +1 ( on same booking) in middle seat in last row...was forced to pay for seats! :(

A few years ago we flew Syd-Akl (QF Y)-Ppt (TN J) rtn using AA miles. Nothing special about TN J then...semi recline J seats and reasonable food....but had to pay $$$ from Ppt to Bob on VT!. But Bora Bora was stunning :)

I went in August 2024. I got ZAR from ATM at Jnb airport. I used ZAR in Namibia and change will be returned in local currency.. I used USD (brought from home) and credit card in Zim. You will need USD cash to pay for Visa to enter Zimbabwe...get a double entry visa if entering more than once ;)

I disagree with one aspect...sudoer should not have asked for 5K KrisFlyer miles for the lack of inflight WiFi...I would wait and see what the airline offered, hopefully more than 5K miles which is a pittance tbh.

Thanks for the heads up Matt! Am flying J to Palau in Oct, and back in Y. Given checkin closes early in Palau, my best bet I guess is to get a breakfast box from the hotel as you ae leaving or will need to buy some food to bring onboard!

I got the US Amex Aspire card (read the long thread!) and for an annual fee of US$550, get Hilton Diamond status. You could also get the Amex Marriot equivalent for US$650 annualy I believe.

Unless you have Priority Pass or an Amex card which gives you access to the Amex lounge, you are out of luck!

And if flight is delayed or cancelled, you will hopefully be automatically put on same new flight!

We did this flight yesterday: Qf 27 --> KL 702. With flight retimings, our transit at Scl was down to 1 hr 40 mins....meaning any delay on the inbound would risk our connection at Scl. We departed Syd 5 mins late but arrived in Scl 30 mins early....it took just under 30 mins to walk at normal...
