QF51 operated by VH-OEI turned back enroute to Singapore and landed back in Brisbane an hour after take off. VH-OJL positioned from Sydney to Brisbane to operate the flight some 8 hours late. Does anyone know what happened to the aircraft that resulted in it turning back?

On Oct 24, QF11 is not operating Syd-LAX, however QF12 is still operating LAX-Syd as a 747. Both QF107 and QF108 are operating that day, so how does QF12 operate if there is no QF11, which aircraft would they use?
