AFF Cruise #2. Rerun. Crown Princess 4 nights 25-29 January 2025

Thanks for the heads up - going to borrow one from a friend. ___________________________________________________________________________ BTW that friend, who is an avid cruiser, also works as a greeter, at Port of Hobart when the vessel arrives in Hobart. So some good advice will be available...

Not the one I was indicating - and not really a statue?

OK. Where is the only other statue where they are all 4 together? And predates the Liverpool one. Hint: Its in one of my TRs (but you won't find it by searching on Beatle :) )

Ha ha. Yes, always look up on booking.com then go direct with the host, if you can. Even if its the same price, if an individual (say B&B) they appreciate it more (I usually tell them I saw them on b.com)

Saturated baggage - but Virgin won't own it

Doesn't negate Australian consumer law. If it was me, I'd pursue it, although I have time on my hands.

Wow - E54/night for the double, for a month in mid summer. I have 2 trips planned mid year, a month apart. Wonder if the Travel Agent will voodoo doll me if I ask to cancel them and rebook just one? Actually I can't - got stuff happening during that month but this is a great find, thanks...

Saturated baggage - but Virgin won't own it

But I'm sure under consumer law they must treat the bag 'reasonably' or with 'care a reasonable person would expect' or similar. If they ran over the bag with a baggage truck thing I'd like to see them go 'tough luck' for any claim. Which comes back to being left out in a downpour. If its in...

Travel Gear in today's screen world

Maybe getting off your very helpful topic, but if you don't mind exploring: I don't think its 'pretty obvious'. If you use hotel equipment, could the insurer argue that you did have a duty of care in making sure it was 'appropriate/well maintained/'compliant' ' (or whatever weasel word they...

Saturated baggage - but Virgin won't own it

I would say leaving a bag out in a storm and being soaked is similar to it being dropped from an unusual height and having something break inside. Goes beyond 'reasonable care' and is avoidable.

Travel Gear in today's screen world

Yes, using 'non compliant' equipment (non Australian standard) as a reason refuse an insurance claim must be questionable. If you die in an overseas hotel fire, or lose gear and the hotel fire escapes, sprinklers etc aren't to Australian standard, do they refuse claim?

AFF Cruise #2. Rerun. Crown Princess 4 nights 25-29 January 2025

Ah, yes, that's all done. I'll only have a carry-on, so I guess I'll just trundle that behind me in the Blue lane. "Without status", what time would you suggest to get there (prefer as early as I am able)

    Little things I like

Rabbits here are fair dinkum in plague proportions. In an evening 2-3 on any given lawn; quite unafraid. Have to choose your garden plants carefully, else they'll be taken to the ground overnight.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

The contrast with SQ/Krisflyer is startling. If you want business class in or out of Australia, 6 months out you can still see (or I did) multiple choices for the day you want to fly. Closer in, its tougher, but they are still there with flexibility. I dislike their business class bed, but...

Thanks @straitman All good, except on-line check-in. I have a boarding pass (and baggage tags), does that mean I've checked-in previously? Can't remember. Or where should it be?
