I don't think that is an unreasonable view, or necessarily an unpopular opinion. I think many would support QF improving F service - on ground and in the air. If the changes result in better service in the F lounge - then on balance, it's probably a good thing.
People take legal action for what others (me included) consider petty regularly. Emotions often win over thinking about things with more perspective - some people also don't have that ability.
I will pass your good luck into the people that actually will run that argument. I have better things to do. But I do work in an environment where I see people take legal action against airlines for all sorts of reasons - including "the principle"- so I truly wouldn't put it past people unless...
Completely agree on a practical sense. On a consumer legal perspective, they may be able to run a different position. In comparison, Qatar's flight Cbr to Mel, while it flies domestically, can't be purchased as a domestic flight. Then you have things like QFs flight to Norfolk Island which is...
Given the direction they are going (whether it's right or wrong), it probably made more sense for QF to drop all status or QC lounge access for JQ - domestic or international.
Cleaner, provides more brand difference and just rips off the bandage in one go.
By being joyous at others misfortune, you are guaranteeing your next F visit will be during QF's special menu... when all items feature a variation of pumpkin.
Bon appetit 😉
I'm not complaining or anything as I wouldn't do it anyway. I just assess what is written at the time of reading and I don't see anything about "international flight numbers", just "international flights".
At the end of the day, if someone can purchase a seat from A to B within Australia, and...
Am I missing something? Book a JQ flight from SYD to MEL, it happens to depart from Sydney International - I can access the First lounge because lounge access is available on a Jetstar Domestic flight 😂😉
I'm sure they will tighten up their words closer to the date.
I had issues getting off a J Qantas flight and connecting to Cathay in Y at HKG. Originally was refused access to the QF lounge, but then pulled up the rules from OneWorld, and to their credit, they were apologetic and let me in. Didn't have any issues with any Cathay lounges on same lounge...
Ahhh but you're missing the "Qantas Club" aspect! Access was not provided off Oneworld status (but that would have been possible if I had status at the time).
This was also after the QF club access to BA lounges ended (I think this used to be a thing).
Had a similar experience when Comair (British Airways) existed and they used to let Qantas Club holders into their SLOW lounges - with absolutely nothing listed on the Qantas website.
Accessed these lounges in Joburg and Cape Town and they were truly lovely.
QF593 - OOL to SYD - 1025am Departure
Options were Omelette or Frittata (didn't catch what type). Went the Omelette, which met my expectations of being very average. Sausages I enjoyed.
The pastry, however, was excellent. Soft and warmed up.
