    Qantas TravelPass discussion

The travel pass expires 31-12-22 and so does the double status credit deal so I’m good with that. Maybe that’s the trade off for agreeing to the card which I think cannot be refunded, (unless I have that wrong).

    Qantas TravelPass discussion

Hi Chris I rang Qantas yesterday and converted a credit I had from an aborted NZ trip and transferred the double status credit conditions that were in the original trip. So yeah I’m happy now, just hope I can get the same trip for the same dollars down the track and there are no hidden nasties...

Fly Well. New QF Covid procedures

I'm sure its been said a number of times here but I'm just not getting the reduction of service on regional routes. Got on a flight yesterday, packed to the gunwales on a Dash 8 so it was shoulder to shoulder. Pack of coughpy crackers and a bottle of water, 5pm and no alcohol service and I still...

Qantas FF announcement 20 June - "biggest overhaul" in program history

LTP is good news conceptually but at 75k is a strange business decision. Obviously out of the reach of most frequent fliers the carrot is there for only a handful of fliers. Would have been smarter for QF to lower the bar a bit to attract the rest of the high end FFs and retain their business.

    Changing flights - Same day

Thanks for the replies. I will add though the original booking was on a chockers peak time flight. I had to cough up the full fare on a half empty flight. Anyway I look forward to more of QF's positive discretionary service.

    Changing flights - Same day

Agree. Thats my point, "when it suits" is confusing. The fare conditions were the same, both red e deals by the way. The way it was handled was chalk and cheese. I have no issues with terms and conditions, just frustrated with differing levels of flexibility.

    Changing flights - Same day

I'm interested to hear anyone elses experience or take on this. A few weeks ago I got held up on the road and missed my flight. So I got on line and booked the next flight on points. (did not use the change option) Before I even reached the airport a consultant from QF premium rang me and let...

AKL EK lounge denial QF flight

I have only been turned away once, very politely. Worth the risk of rejection though when you feel like a better glass of bubbles :)

I wonder if Peter Dutton still has access to the Chairman's lounge? :)

Using points to retain Platinum ...

Good points JK. I didnt know some of those benefits existed. Its almost as if QF are doing a slow stealthy planned removal of benefits. What started out as a loyalty program has become a (a very profitable) points trading business. The loyalty part is becoming less important to them apparently.

Using points to retain Platinum ...

As points and SCs have always been a separate entity this is either the start of a number of discreet offers by QF or the beginning of a major change to the programme. If it is the start of a big change then to me that obviously means the dilution of status. Diluting status just makes the...

SYD J International Lounge [not good]

Re: SYD J International Lounge [- not good] I live in a regional centre in QLD. The local lounge here is so overcrowded that there it has been standing room only the last two visits and I have had to turn around and adjourn to the airport cafe. I realise this is about SYD J but the reason for...

Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18) Its a well known naturally formed moat which no longer prevents the pilgramage of Jandal wearing Kiwis armed with Chillybins full of Paua meat.:p

Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18) Apologes if I have missed this in the thread, but I see in the terms and conditions there are some exclusions with partner services. Does this exclude the Jet Connect service across the Dootch to NZ?

Qantas eyes 'tip to tail' seat upgrade for Airbus A380

Thats fair comment. Questioning the validity of an opinion or complaint however is not a "light hearted dig". I believe everyone should be able to express their (valid and reasonable) opinions on this forum without having to defend them. By the way, I do suffer mild claustrophobia. I...

Qantas eyes 'tip to tail' seat upgrade for Airbus A380

You can be as amused as you like. I was just stating how the seat made me feel. Not being condescending or uppity. I do 99 percent of my travelling in economy and never feel that way as the space is open. I love the A380 J seat but was genuinely disappointed with the A330 seat. If someone...

Qantas eyes 'tip to tail' seat upgrade for Airbus A380

I do hope they dont have the same J seats as the 330s. They are shockers. I felt truly claustrophobic in those seats had to get up and walk around. My wife was also cranky after 8 hours of not being able to communicate.
