Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

That is truly amazing. The key would seem to be not to use AC points on AC. Who would've known!!😂

Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

That's exactly what I did!! I live and learn - well occasionally that is.

Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

I wish I could understand this stuff. I bought AC points at a discount and used them for a SYD-YVR return. As I was 20k points short I made up the difference with cash. The total cost of this ticket, cost of points plus cash balance, was considerably greater than the cash cost of my wife's...

Article: Not All Economy Class Products Are the Same

I thought that was a brilliant article, Matt. Very informative. Every frequent flyer will on occasion meet an all-economy flight; being armed with your info is going to make a significant difference to the flight choices, so very many thanks.

Passport Renewal / Application - Time Taken?

Yes, and I believe that some places reject passports with "bent" corners, whatever that might mean. I haven't experienced this, have other members?

Air Canada must honour refund policy invented by its AI chatbot

I believe that's a really important point. You can't beat hard copy evidence.

Passport Renewal / Application - Time Taken?

I would have thought it was worth the effort. I've flown back to Oz on my UK passport as I'd left my Oz passport in the hotel safe and didn't have time to go back and get it. It caused some grumbles both arriving and departing again, but it worked!

Passport Renewal / Application - Time Taken?

Guys, get two passports and never leave home without both.

Has that happened to you? Were you significantly inconvenienced if so?

Best program to redeem AF/KLM flights

I just tried to replicate this, and IT WORKED! I have no idea why it didn't work yesterday but now it does. Clearly Jase05, you have worked magic.

Best program to redeem AF/KLM flights

I just have to be doing something wrong then. SYD - BKK shows me no flights available even 300 days out. I'll try again!

Best program to redeem AF/KLM flights

I became an Aeroplan member last year after reading several positive reports of their FF system. My understanding was that one could find a seat on virtually any flight, but that the price in points would reflect the scarcity of available seats. That sounded excellent to me. A year later I have...

Beginner; would like advice on maximising Frequent Flyer benefits for family trip to Singapore

I think SQ has reasonable availability of redemption seats. I have recently booked a SIN return in First that I'm now looking to adjust, and there was adequate availability around my original booking. If I understand you correctly, yes, you can add your Star Alliance or other SQ partner...

Beginner; would like advice on maximising Frequent Flyer benefits for family trip to Singapore

Very sound advice. The only advantage of the A380 lies in its suites. These are magnificently superior to regular First. But you can book the A380 and get an airplane swap and so have only regular First but with no compo!

who takes out travel insurance for trans Tasman or domestic travel

Very interesting response from 'Gremlin' although at $45k it must lie at the extreme end of the risk table. Personally, I would regard that as too unlikely to be worth paying domestic insurance for every trip. I mostly rely on Amex Plat cover even internationally, regarding the residual risk as...

All AU Diners Club personal cards will be cancelled in January 2024

I remember using my Diners Club card in Russia in the late 70's. At that time, for an a-la-carte breakfast, every single item was individually charged. That meant that each individual scroll of butter was charged and itemised on the bill. Amazing!!

Have you actually lost your passport before while travelling?

Left my Oz passport in a hotel safe, but Qantas flew me back from SIN on the strength of my NSW drivers licence. At SYD they were a bit narky but stamped my UK passport (yes this was years ago!). Going out the next week it turned out that they had not stamped a page of my Oz passport, but rather...

Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

That's for sure, ex Oz was fine. It was more the 'all courses at once' which offended us. Maybe I'm just too picky!

Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

From the point of view of service, I guess it would be service director dependent. But all the courses at once on a plastic tray? That's not Business Class IMO.
