Qantas to introduce hot meals and hot snacks on most domestic flights, extends tea and coffee service

Bring back the actual hot dinner (with a chocolate if you were lucky) too that you'd get on QF golden triangle services pre-Covid I say. Would be a winner in my books

BA - LAX check in time

Hi TRS123 Just found on FlyerTalk this forum from the start of this month which might answer your question. The 13th post has an image which shows BA280 check in opens at 12.50pm ahead of the 17.10hr departure...

Weirdest item you've seen taken as carry-on?

Might have taken half a dozen loaves of bread as carry on once because the bakery was great haha.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Looks like Qantas could be making an ASX announcement on Monday outlining changes to its frequent flyer program. Likely to be the formal launch of its Classic+ product.

Qantas Increases Legroom Charges; Changes to Row 4 selection on most 737 flights

Gold frequent flyer here and very disappointed by this news as someone who has benefited pretty much every time on the golden triangle by selecting Row 4 at T80. While Qantas is touting it as great for P1 and chairman's club flyers, it is very much a devaluation of those unwritten but very...

Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

Likewise, my double status from start of March are in. Seem the initial flights at the start of the period have come in a bit quicker than past years.

John Mullen named new Qantas chairman

https://www.qantasnewsroom.com.au/media-releases/qantas-announces-new-chairman/ Former Telstra chairman John Mullen has been drafted to become the next chair at Qantas, replacing Richard Goyder. Reading his bio in the release. Mr Mullen is certainly racking up the director fees at the moment...

Is travel to Israel/ME realistically possible?

Looks like all the major airlines which suspended flights last year (Emirates, Cathay, the euro and US carriers) are returning to Tel Aviv from March, so that would be an indication that it is possible from a logistics perspective.

AA to fly BNE to DFW [confirmed]

Heard from a friend at Brisbane Airport that AA is going to be starting services later this year. Apparently it will be announced very late tonight Australian time, but morning in the US. Certainly will make QF's option to the US even more inferior.

Qantas hires consultants to improve on-time performance

Hopefully they take a look at the A380s... Seems like there is always some kind of hold up making them push up a little bit later than scheduled than say Singapore Airlines and Emirates in my experience.

    2024 QF Inflight safety video

Had the new version on our flight to Noumea the other day + plus the French version of it, which probably all up took 8 minutes. The French one was much shorter without all the backstories and took just under 3 minutes.

    2024 QF Inflight safety video

Edited version is much better than the media cut, but six minutes is still a very long safety video. I feel 4 minutes is the sweet spot in keeping people engaged like the "safety in style" era from 2013-2015

    Qantas Damaged Bag

My Samsonite bag came out on the carousel at Sydney T3 on Monday missing a wheel, which is not ideal when flying out again on holidays in a few days time. Saw Baggage Services who have did some paperwork and have also had to complete the online form on "what to do next" in getting it repaired...

Do you prefer silent airport lounges & terminals with no announcements?

Happy for a quiet lounge if only visual announcements/airport website information actually matches with what is happening at the gate. Too many times I've gone to the gate when I first see "boarding" on the screen to find out that boarding has not started, or that the plane has literally...

    First Qantas A220 revealed

Will be good to see the A220 enter service for Qantas considering it is such a great aircraft. For me it is crazy to think that today's Qantas had 140 aircraft in its mainline division in 2013 compared to 126 today. Current fleet age is 14.6 years compared to 7.9 years in 2013. This comes...

    QF inflight safety video

Obviously, Qantas wanted to extract every dollar celebrating its 100th birthday to milk the safety video for nearly four years. I must admit that I've stopped actively watching it because of the number of times I've heard it (feel sorry for the crew), and also because it goes for an awful long...

Qantas, Virgin, Qatar called to assist with Israel repatriation flights

I wonder if it was to ensure that the crew could operate their normal rotation through both Singapore and London as it would seem strange to ferry a plane to Dubai via London.
