Am I missing something about the Halliday rating on this one, or are VM stretching the truth (to be very kind)? They state the wine got 95 points and gold in the James Halliday - 2022 Australian Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon Challenge, but it was the RESERVE Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon...

I've had a few of their older wines (Vinomofo and Cracka Wines had some of their 207 - 2013 reds at various times for under $30) and they were all excellent. All of these were (from memory) 95-97 points in Wine Companion. From the database, but are all sadly gone now: 2011 Ann's Cabernet...

Zema Family Selection matches on Halliday score and special value and Vivino score, and was around that price, but it's screw cap and I don't think I've ever seen a Zema wine on VM. Ditto on all counts for Patrick Home Block. I can't find any Reschke / Stonehaven / Schoolhouse wines that...

Cellardoor.co have Wynns Black Label cab sauv 2021 at $174/6 ($29 each) less $20 for purchases over $250 with the code OCTOBER20 - brings it down to $27.33 per bottle in a dozen. I have to accept that we might have seen the last of getting this for $25 - I didn't find the 2019 version lower than...

Interesting - a bit of a deep dive suggests that their wines are made by Ben Wurst, who also makes wine for Reschke / Schoolhouse / Stonehaven / CW Wines, as well as Terramore.

I can't find a Winecompanion rating of that wine either, and the 95 points isn't mentioned on the company website: https://www.cwwines.com/products/vitulus-shiraz-2021 It might be a glitch with Winecompanion - the 2018 Bos cabernet is also absent from there, though VM claimed 95 points.

The reason my Winecompanion search didn't work is that VM listed the region incorrectly, it's Eden Valley, not Barossa. I'm happy with it anyway :) Edit: code 36CVDH brings it down to $109.30 shipped for 6.

I didn't have any luck searching the Halliday database for 2016 cab sauv 95 points under $55. Nothing there from Tanunda, the closest was Pindarie Schoff's Hill, but the alcohol percentage doesn't match up and VM would probably mention the Halliday value star.
