    Qantas Points Cracker promotion

Will see. A lot is up in the air at the moment. I may even hope for an offer to spend points to retain.

Qantas surveying members about spend-based status attainment

If they introduce this I might need to consider whether to try to get LTG earlier than planned. Though it wouldn’t be cheap, it may be a lot cheaper than after the devaluation.

    Qantas Points Cracker promotion

I got 10 SC, which was what I wanted. Nowhere near retaining WP and just a short domestic trip in my forward bookings.

Loyalty bonus: 50 sc or 8000 points. Which is best, and in which situation - confused

I always go for SC to move as quickly as I can towards Lifetime Status. 50 SC may not sound like a lot. But loyalty bonuses and the SC from Green Tier do add up over time.

I ordered a card and so did some friends and it arrived. No QANTAS Cash on the card anymore though.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

For simplicity let’s assume a midday departure from both SYD and LHR and assume a 21 hour flight in each direction. Midday departure from SYD arrives in LHR at 10pm (with 11 hour time difference). Probably couldn’t schedule it to that late though as if the flight was delayed you’d be risking...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

The problem with just doing SYD-LHR is you need 3 aircraft due to curfews at both ends. Adding MEL-LHR just requires 2 additional aircraft as MEL has no curfew. So if they do SYD nonstop they should seriously consider MEL as well imo

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

If Sunrise flights for BA led them to starting direct or indirect flights to MEL I’d be very happy.

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

It is possible QF might sell the F cabin as J seats with J service. I think this has already happened at times on seasonal routes.

How long will QF use DSC promos - Your guess?

For many getting to LTG would be out of reach or take a lot longer without DSC promos to help along the way. I am on track to get to LTG many years before I would have got to it without DSC. For QF the sugar hit of additional revenue is worth more people getting status. If you are relying on...

Hopefully the option to get a physical card is there next year as well.

Though one would think most QFF members would be Australian/New Zealand residents

    Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

The timing of this promo would normally suit me better than the one earlier in the year, but I’m not sure yet when/if I’ll fly internationally in 2025.

    Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

QF’s IT systems use GMT/UTC anyway I think despite what the T&Cs say. There’s most likely a greater risk of a morning booking at the start of the promo not crediting than a booking made at the end of the period.

Same, though I don’t have any plans to travel overseas any time soon.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Oh wow, I didn’t know their competitor had LTG now. I have been focusing on QF and avoiding the competitor to try to get to LTG with QF. I reckon if QF lowered the LTSC needed for LTP to a more attainable level they might introduce a requirement that a significant portion needs to be on both...

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

I think if LTP was set at 35,000 LTSC not 75,000 LTSC there would be a lot more interested. As it stands LTG is the sweet spot and is what I am aiming to get. LTP requires too much spend to be a realistic target to aim for.

Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

The Timezone of the promo is e.g. AEST but the computer systems for bookings uses UTC/GMT, I think. So if you book in the morning of the opening day of the promo it may be during the promo in AEST but before the promo according to the computer systems meaning that you end up needing to chase the...

When is the next 2024 Qantas Double status credits offer?

That didn’t stop QF from doing a second promo (sometimes targeted) in the one year pre-COVID some years. I think by now the pent up demand to travel again has been satisfied and the cost of living crisis will be restraining demand more than QF would like.
