I separately had the Dom & St Henri loaded in the cart but couldn't check out either time.

Enjoy! The Keyneton's can struggle after 10 years IMO and I do like a 10+ year red as a rule. Hill Of Grace start life better than Grange IMO but don't go as long. I'd had some great older My Edelstone. I had a 1990 about 10 years ago at a wine dinner with some friends and it was very good...

I lose track of time faster as I age more! I probably haven't had much Torbreck for more than 10 years. Maybe my tastes just changed. I drink less bid SA shiraz but the odd Torbrek I've had of recent times hasn't had much impact on me.

Henschke are great wines but have an ageing limit. Torbreck I used to love but they aren't what they were - change in ownership & winemaker. The Clarendon Hills do last but as a rule but nothing 20 years old outlasts poor conditions in storage. Maybe the 2004 Liandra just isn't one that made...

I've got a similar opener. The Clarendon's I opened were at a work lunch function and had to use a corkscrew but these things are great for old corks

Yes, agreed to a point - they were a bit mixed from memory. My experience has been that the Clarendon Hills have a long life. Published drinking windows are often set on release tasting and are guess work so I tend to look for more recent tasting notes on sites like Cellar Tracker when looking...

Just an FYI for anyone considering buying the Clarendon Hills Liandra 2004: https://www.vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/unwrp-shiraz-2004-event-deal-60267/ Past it IMO. I have had a few old Clarendon Hills, mainly from Langton's, in the last couple of years and generally been happy enough with them...

I tried to get a Dom but when I literally on the opening added it to the card and tried to pay it was sold out.

Half a dozen Moet with the $25 discount code for $334.4 isn't bad

Thanks for the response. Makes it tough when they don't offer much of a review quote in the description. Just means I am less likely to buy anything which isn't a disaster for me.

Apologies if this has been covered previously but has the VM uncovered site been disabled? My recent searches refer only to the uncovered descriptions.

Margaret River's climate is regulated by the two oceans and the vintages are very consistent. Virtually all 8 or 9 out of 10. I wouldn't have an issue with MR 2020. Probably the only Aust region I'd buy 2020 from from now other than maybe Tassie or Heathcote.

I wouldn't buy 2021 Bordeaux. Probably the worst year of the last decade+. Can't speak specifically for Medoc or the wine itself but 2022 was a generally much better vintage

The Joseph is very good and looks great on the table. Best I've done for the Show recently is $50 from Langtons Carpe Diam.

There is sparkling shiraz and there is sparkling shiraz. The Seppelt Show is very good but at $100 it would want to be. With most sparkling, you don't get what you don't pay for. There's some good sparkling shiraz from Rutherglen if you like a bit of body from the hot dry climate at a...

I've had the CH 2009 Grenache and it's definitely worth the asking price. It won't get any better but not past it.

CCC would be my first choice and BB second - I would have bought both but both OOS so saved my $. No interest in the rest.

BL Cab needs a bit of time and cellars for a long time. At $50 it's too expensive. At <$30 it's great value IMO. I have some of most years from 2006 in my cellar but haven't paid the asking in recent years. It used to be a good buy on discount from Dan's on Wynnsday release.

Head wines are generally good wines. I'd buy if the price was 25%+ discounted (travelling O/s at present so can't buy anything - suitcase filling with Rioja at present)

I don't think any d'Arenberg wines are quite what they once were and the range is astoundingly huge which always worries me, but I'd buy Dead Arm at $40 every time. I also snapped up the '14 grenache just to see if it's any good given the pricing was reasonable.
