Indeed! As an example from over a decade ago, the QF domestic J lounge at ... y'know I've forgotten whether it was MEL or BNE, but as per QF domestic J normality there wasn't really any food or drink to get excited about ... HOWEVER it was probably the best view you could get over the tarmac...

Not always … as a very infrequent flyer, I can name two where it was better to flee the lounge … the QF lounge in Hobart, and whatever CI was using at Gatwick in 2018 (Plaza Premium Lounge I think it was). Of course as @kpc says, if you don’t have access then you don’t know what you’re not...
