Its complicated. I booked Y initially on Dec 31, cancelled and rebooked Y+ and got a new PNR Jan 1 and then had to change domestic US flights on Jan 3 under the same PNR which lost my upgrade request so I had to re request. I think he booked on Jan 2 so may technically have been a little ahead...

Y+ to J success on QF93 MEL-LAX @ T-59 as a WP Only booked it 3 days ago and unusually is an A380 on a Sunday which likely helped. Also helping, my employer has a new travel policy in 2025 which will allow for Y+ bookings if no more than 3k USD above lowest cost Y fare.

And success on the return Y>J upgrade at T-27 on QF94 LAX-MEL on an A380. Looking quite busy with only 3 seats left.

Yes, understand it isn't ideal. The trip was booked first for a conference and then we added the cruise later. Have about 18 hours up our sleeve and have identified alternative flights via SYD or BNE if we run into issues.

They could swap in a 787 from the LAX route to offer Y+ on MEL-SIN. A good step up from the current A330.

Could daily MEL-SIN and MEL-LAX be covered by 2 additional A380’s (total of 9) or would it require all 10?
