Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

I just want to know if I'll get lounge access as a regular VA customer in J (or in Y with status)! Currently nothing for VA int customers.

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

LOL, lounge still not upgraded, so rusted-on QF customers get excited about the ice cream.

Not really because TK cannot sell that sector alone.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Clive Palmer is the only person who has come out of this with his reputation enhanced. Joe Aston as well, obviously.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Desperation on the part of the government, it's laughable. He is in opposition, they are making decisions affecting Qantas while asking AJ for upgrades and taking them. .

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA77 CNS-HND on Tue 29 Oct, the main meal was nice without being great (chicken a bit boring), but everything else was superb. Wonderful service from Laurence, absolutely pitch perfect. Plenty of drinks, snacks offered, etc. Central Otago pinot noir is always lovely. The fried rice (chicken...

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

No, it's not, QFF status tier qual or re-qual only requires four sectors on QF. And they have an actual, proper international network in Oneworld. I've always said that the best part about being a QFF member is not having to fly Qantas - QFF has suddenly become more attractive.

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

That's a massive ouch for me and, I suspect, many others. I comfortably retain WP each year with SC earn (mainly international travel with partner airlines and some VA domestic) but struggle to make the 8 eligible sectors on VA. That requirement is now replaced by the 50% rule, which is much...

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

How will the new "SCs based on $ amount" work when flying on partner airlines?

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Yes, would easily qualify if partner flights and family pooling counted in full, but 9000 credits of the 12000 total need to be VA flights personally flown. So unlikely to ever get there unless VA suddenly starts doing int long haul with a decent J class. (Fingers crossed for the QR wet lease.)

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Yes, same with us, we always plan ahead and select our seats, and don't care if we are seated together. Except in our case, it is aisle seats in Y! And I would never give up my aisle seat for a non-aisle seat to help out a couple who did not plan ahead.

Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

Yes, received 12 mth fee waiver text message 30 minutes ago. So will be keeping it for now. They must be losing massive numbers - the guy at Bendigo Bank said they have been receiving 20,000 applications per day for Bendigo Ready card. He instantly knew what I was in there for!

Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

So, to summarise, just about the only option is the Bankwest Platinum Zero that meets these criteria: - no annual fee - no minimum spend requirement - must be a credit card not debit card - no foreign transaction fees - official MC or Visa exchange rates Is this correct? Thanks.
