What are the chances of Citi going down the Amex route and cancelling the restaurant benefit?

Credit Card Offers Citi Premier: 110,000 bonus Velocity Points (ends 20/1/25)

Does Citi consider the Velocity and Qantas versions of the card as separate programs?

    JAL Apex 787-9 vs Cathay A350 J?

I would probably pick the JAL apex suites over Cathay for the seat. If you said HKG-NRT, I would be tempted to go Cathay as they are operating their Aria suite aircraft to there on some flights. The main issue would b taking out the bags upon arrival at Tokyo. The lounges in Hong Kong are of...

    Booking Sri Lankan Airlines?

Not expecting anything and I understand delays are part of every airline. But constant 4+ hour delays on both Melbourne and Sydney routes this week certainly makes it unreliable. I got the beep at the gate and got an involuntary gate upgrade as a OWE, but still doesn't entice me to try them...

    Booking Sri Lankan Airlines?

Currently half way through a Sri Lankan Airlines itinerary. Impacted by severe delays 6 hours each way on MEL-CMB/CMB-MEL. I had a 7.5 hour original transit at CMB on the return. But due to the initial delay of 4 hours, it became 11.5 hours. However, they wouldn't provide any accommodation...

Alaska Airlines no longer shows any Qantas award availability

Slightly off topic, but I noticed Qantas reward seat availability on Air New Zealand website also disappeared at around the same time.

Article: The Cost-Saving Strategy of Earning Status Every Two Years

Nice article and handy tips. I think some airlines like BA also give you a grace period. So, your status is valid for an extra month even if you don't meet the requirements that year.

Award seats on BA using QFF points

Finnair is currently having an avios sale. And I am pretty sure you can transfer the Avios then to BA avios at 1:1. https://onemileatatime.com/deals/buy-finnair-plus-avios/

Turkish Airlines flights to Sydney start November 2024

Has anyone been able to book SYD-KUL on this route? I can see the MEL-SIN sector bookable separately, but not SYD-KUL for the month of December.

Seats.aero - a useful tool for finding Qantas & Velocity reward availability

I noticed option to search for >1 seat on other programs, but not on Qantas. Is this something that is coming in future? Currently, I use Alaska search to work around this for Oneworld airlines and assume Qantas would have the same availablity.

Al Safwa lounge access on First Class Reward ticket

We did this in April as we had 10 hours between our flights. I recommend requesting a booking for the room asap when you arrive at the lounge. It could be busy especially if you are after a double room. Maximum stay is 6 hours.

JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

Update: Didn't work but I knew beforehand anyway as MEL-SYD was a rewards ticket. They said they should still be able to do it until they found I had booked it using Air NZ airpoints. Slightly OTT, but funny... Then the question shifted to one of curiosity. "How did you book Qantas flight using...

SkyTeam Status Match - ITA Airways

Just flew China Airlines and the ITA status came in handy. Tried to enter my ITA number while booking but the airline was not listed in the drop-down list of Skyteam airlines. After booking, I tried Czech airline website which unfortunately had closed down. Saudia was saying my ITA number was...

JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

Been taking notes on this thread and I am finally doing the JL52 trip in the next few days. I guess departing from HND would have been nicer, but this is all I could get in terms of last minute availability. I have a Qantas flight out of Melbourne booked as a separate ticket. Is there any hope...
