Rewards seats changed from QR to QF without approval and from J to Y

Rang Qantas today to again ask them to reissue the tickets for the new Cathay itinerary. Started to give me the usual script of ticketing dept have to do this or that. I explained they had already caused the booking to be cancelled due to their incompetence. I explained I wasn’t leaving the...

Rewards seats changed from QR to QF without approval and from J to Y

Hi Coralda. I thought it was sorted as spoke to a guy at Qantas he explained the Qantas lady had tried to automatically issue the tickets and they had come back rejected and as she didn’t intervene Cathay cancelled the booking based on timing out. He booked 2 revenue seats with Cathay and...

Rewards seats changed from QR to QF without approval and from J to Y

It is a sad indictment of a national carrier that the starting point has to be complete mistrust and then work backwards from that point - and if at any stage something goes wrong have absolutely no rights whatsoever 🤬🤬🤬

Rewards seats changed from QR to QF without approval and from J to Y

I read the thread on Monday prompted by the AFF weekly email. I have business class rewards booked with qantas via Cathay pacific SYD-MAN via Hong Kong . Cathay had changed the flights recently and qantas had not reticketed. I rang them Monday night asking them to reticket the new flights so I...

Points Club Earn on non QF flights?

Hopefully the right thread or forum for this question. Managed to book business classic reward using QFF points - flights are with emirates SYD-MAN EK415 and EK17. Booked on Qantas app. They don’t show as codeshare at all and as I am points club plus I was hoping to get the status credits. What...

    Travel Insurance which covers COVID-19?

Do any of these policies cover temporary residents in Australia? Qantas specifically state their policy is for Australian residents only. With yesterday’s border announcement I am booked on a trip to UK on Dec 4th but will need a covid travel policy that provides inpatriate cover.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Hasn’t changed my world - temporary resident who now has to watch all my work colleagues and neighbours fly around the world. But on semantics I am classed as not ‘living’ here. I have no issue with Australian citizens and permanent residents being included but cannot fathom how ‘residents’...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Did the Prime Minister mention temporary visa holders at all? Or do we continue to be treated as we don’t exist in Australia? Still awaiting a response from Minister Alex Hawke MP to my email asking when temporary residents will be afforded the same privilege as Australian citizens and permanent...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I notice all the announcements refer to Australian citizens and permanent residents. But as a temporary visa holder it would be nice to find at least a snippet of information stating if we are part of these decisions. After spending over 18 months on the opposite side of Hotel California - I can...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I pulled the trigger last week. Booked Qantas rewards Syd-Man on Cathay Pacific for July 2022. But worried what the status of Hong Kong will be. Also me and Mrs only temporary visa holders so hoping that Australian rules apply to people allowed to live in Australia. (Surely cannot treat us...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

First time posting. If I book classic business rewards flight SYD - MAN return for may 2022 on basis borders are open and no quarantine on rtn and aus govt allows that travel. If all those things don’t happen I just cancel and rebook? Any potential pitfalls to tieing up my frequent flyer points?
