Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

100% There are very limited VA-marketed international flights, and of those - they are overpriced and very hard to book, which is a nightmare.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

But that outstation at SIN is likely shared with business customers, which is probably why it's better? I don't really get your point, sure a first class lounge is better than a business class one, but I don't think that justifies the level of mediocrity of Qantas' J lounges in SYD and MEL (not...

Sorry not sure what any of this has to do with anything.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I am not sure by what metric you say they are "not that bad". Finding a seat to relax is the most foundational aspect of a lounge, so the fact that they are crowded does make them bad. Additionally, every other aspect of the lounge is horrible (food and alcohol). Qantas headquarters is Sydney...

    Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

Just read this as well, highly surprising.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

To be fair I've only been to the flagship business lounges in SYD and MEL and club in Adelaide? 🤔 but the international lounges are so bad and they are meant to be the best example, so why

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

That sounds like a business process problem more than anything else, any normal business will want to solve that - regardless of whether it happens all at once or throughout the year.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I'm not a VA fanboy, but Qantas lounges are so bad that I don't see any problem. They are not exactly competing with Qatar...

ING removing Orange Everyday Montly eligibilty requirements

That's good, but I wish they didn't screw around with interest accounts as they do now.

Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

A lot of routes where I previously received search results for F, don't even have the column at all in the search results. Glad I'm not the only one noticing strange behaviour.

Netherlands - 3-4 days outside Amsterdam

I would recommend Haarlem and Utrecht and then Leiden and Delft. Skip Rotterdam, but that's just my bias. It looks horrible and is essentially where all of Europe's drugs come from, so it's pretty rough.

Worrying scenes from inside as Flight attendants try to evacuate plane

The funniest thing about this is that Germany is again going to get blame for something done by some Austrian(s). But seriously, imagine if these people were on that JAL A350 at Haneda, man they would be roast chicken.

I have the pro gpt plan as well as gemini, I have to say its very cheap for the value you get - a highly productive personal assistant and researcher.

What (if anything) makes you loyal to an airline? In my case QF

Nothing would make me loyal to any airline, always look to what makes the most sense, in any scenario. The way the devaluation of points and the general worsening of benefits of all these programs is going, it may not be worthwhile to even be a high-ranking member much longer.

    YouTubers. Youtubers everywhere [Travel Bloggers]

If anyone follows Bald, he did a video on Tibet recently, which is very interesting, because you are not allowed to be there without a tour guide - but of course he snuck off sometimes. Never seen this part of the world, and unlikely to visit anytime soon, so it's quite fascinating.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Yes, that exactly is my point. I think they didn't like customers like me who spent far more money flying internationally with their partners. I guess if you want to fly a lot overseas, Qantas is going to be the better program. It's ironic, because it's an exact 180 to how the situation was...

How much customer data does Qantas have

A company of the size of Qantas would have far far more IT systems than just "salesforce", I can guarantee you that.

    Virgin Australia IPO Discussion

You should declare personal bankruptcy and see how challenging it is just to get a basic credit card 🤣 Before you say it's different for companies, yeh it's worse, the basic business model for VA is not much different to before, but it's arguably a smaller company now. The fact that they've...
