I got rejected too - first time in my life I've been rejected for any kind of credit.
Not to toot my horn, but I have a chunk of assets, a salary in the top tax bracket and a typical Sydney mortgage, but I got rejected ... I rang Virgin and they basically told me they couldn't provide any...
Hey billmurray,
Do you remember what the minimum spend criteria is on the card? Just got mine, but didn't screen shot the deets - hate for it to be something like $4k in the first month and miss out by a few hundred...
PB at MEL last week was choked - it appeared every 2nd person on the flight was either platinum or gold.
And no one was enforcing the PB queue, one scanner alternating between PB and general.
I did see them checking weights of carryon though
Havent had the second months statement yet, will report back when I do.
Not sure if I mentioned earlier, but I wen for the cheap Virgin card only two months at 1,500/mth.
Chasing the Status Credits not the velocity points.
Ok, but if I'm after the Status Credits (not the velocity points) doesn that mean I'll never be able to meet the criteria (aka in the first month I spent 1200 and the second month I spent 3800)???
Or does that mean if I spend 1,500 in the next month I'll get the Status Credits.
Actually this is an interesting one, as there technically is no minimum spend on this card. The min of $1,500/mth is to get a bonus 30K Velocity points.
I went for the 250 status credits on the Virgin Australia Velocity Card.
Do I need to spend $1,500 per statement month to get the points? I only spent $1,200 in the first month and then $3,800 in the 2nd month.
