Business Class excess baggage fees on ETIHAD

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. That's almost exactly what happened. Her english wasn't great, but she made it clear that I was over by the smallest denomination possible, so would only pay for 10kgs which wouldn't be much. She was typing away, and so never showed me the amount or gave me...

Business Class excess baggage fees on ETIHAD

Hmmm... I think I have been too. I have been in touch with EY who have been VERY lax about replying and generally super unhelpful. They said that they don't offer refund on baggage allowance. Is there an industry body or a regulator that looks into this sort of thing?

Business Class excess baggage fees on ETIHAD

Wondering about Etihad's excess baggage fees... would love any input on the matter. Recently flew Etihad business class (I) from CAI to SYD. The ticket comes with 40kg total checked luggage allowance - each bag could not weigh over 32kg. I checked in 2 x bags. 30kg and 12kg. So was expecting to...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

It's an explorer card - so I suspect I have to commit to closing the card, right? For rather complicated reasons, I can't call AMEX before the card technically renews, but I can call before they charge me the fee. Do you think this is a washout, or worth a shot? 1702260719 Great outline @Poojou...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

The annual fee for my card is due 4 weeks after my card renewal date. Am I able (and is it wise) to try for a retention bonus after my renewal date, but before my fee date? Also, is this something I can do over chat, or is it a call situation?

The Virgin Australia Newbie Questions Thread

I found a last-minute reward flight on Virgin Australia that I wanted to book. Virgin's site let me go all the way through to payment. But it was only after I verified everything, input my details and clicked purchase that I got an alert: "Pricing error. We were unable to price your selected...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

Aha! Thanks @Daver6 So I go ahead and cancel the explorer and then reinstate it? D'ya reckon there is anything they can do if I cancel it, and then bump up to Platinum?

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

Have been calling our friends at AMEX recently to try and bump up to Platinum. Despite calling during AEST business hours, I continue to be put through to the call centre in the Phillipines. I was told that retention offers do not exist any more. For anyone. They have been scrapped and AMEX are...

Transfer Australian AMEX points to American AMEX points

@dein_gesicht right? That's my point. And that's will all the bonuses built in too. I am yet to find a reasonable conversion from AMEX (Aus) to any of those afore-mentioned partners, that doesn't suck up a huge amount points. Am I missing something here?

Transfer Australian AMEX points to American AMEX points

Thanks @sudoer . To clarify, I wanted to see if there were any other options that wouldn't loose too much in conversion. And was also wondering about Aeroplane and Advantage. Apologies for triple-checking, but this is still very new and despite weeks of research, rather confusing...

Transfer Australian AMEX points to American AMEX points

Is there any easy way to transfer Aussie AMEX points (without loosing to much in conversions) to: United Aeroplan or AAdvantage ?

Transfer Australian AMEX points to American AMEX points

Now THESE are the options I was looking for! Finding this (relatively straightforward) information is incredibly difficult, so I appreciate the help @aikman. Back to the drawing board.

Transfer Australian AMEX points to American AMEX points

Oh wait... AMEX Explorer can't transfer to Virgin Atlantic Club (despite coming up as a viable option on the AmEx website)?! So AMEX 👉 Virgin Atlantic 👉 ANA is a no go. I would have thought after hoarding all these points I would be able to use them. I'm really starting to feel like I've been...

Transfer Australian AMEX points to American AMEX points

@dein_gesicht it might come to that! And to clarify - the amount was 93k LifeMiles OR 100k Aeroplan

Possible to transfer KrisFlyer to LifeMiles?

Apart from Bonvoy, are there any options?

Possible to transfer KrisFlyer to LifeMiles?

I suspected that might be the case. It's rather annoying that I can't actually use the AMEX points I've spent the last 5 years accumulating. Harrumph.
