That lamb rissole is actually a pretty tasty meal. I had it the other day and enjoyed it. The other one I've had recently is a teriyaki veg with rice and that is also not too bad, I think it was meant to be offered with an optional protein but wasn't.

If it's the lovely guy I had on a OOL-MEL flight mid last year he is also fluent in Japanese, from what I understand. I believe it's quite a shock when he starts chatting away to some of the passengers.

VA734 OOL-MEL today had the beef ragu or the pumpkin and sage pasta with chorizo optional. I went with the chorizo and it was actually really quite good. And not a heart chocolate in sight - it was a BSKT square of Davidson Plum chocolate instead which was lovely.

Sounds interesting and, like others, I'll be watching this thread the next few days to see what menu options people are posting about. I made sure to enjoy my TGCC this afternoon since it could (should!) be the last time I see it for a while.

I'd ask if you had any idea what was on it but I'm sure you do. Can you drop any hints? Had the curry on the way to Sydney this morning, might have it again this afternoon then.

OOL-SYD on Tuesday was the green chicken curry or the Mediterranean salad. Went the curry, it's always good. Was hoping for actual new menu, not a rotation but given how tired I was of the cajun chicken sandwich/pumpkin and risoni salad I can't be too upset.

I did OOL-SYD and back today and the CM (same on both flights) said he'd been told the new menu was dropping this week, possibly Friday. As long as OOL-SYD gets off its rotation of Cajun Chicken Sandwich/Pumpkin and Risoni salad I'll be happy.

Just remember that you can't book them a ticket the same day and have it pool to you - it's a next day/24 hour thing.

Remind me to hit you up for footy tips next season.

I don't have a lot of repeats with the crew though. I'd understand if that was the case.

WP and I've usually been served first no matter where I sit. My order is usually taken during PDB service but I do the same flight most weeks and I'm not sure if that has something to do with it.

Finally got a catering change on the OOL-SYD/return flights. It's the Mediterranean style salad and the green chicken curry. I've eaten so much pumpkin risoni salad the past few months that I was probably a bit too enthusiastic at hearing a different menu.

Oh, yes, mulled wine… I saw that as well. Currently on the tarmac on VA525, we’re waiting for a delayed crew member. Same menu in reverse of course but the CM has done orders and offered a second PDB so meal service should be quick. No wifi on the plane today either so there’s some grumpy...

Happy Christmas in July. I completely forgot until they said it on VA516 OOL-SYD this morning. Wonder of wonders, there was a menu change. The pumpkin and risoni salad was still an option but there was also the offer of roast turkey with vegetables and gravy which I took. The cheese and crackers...

They had a rather good Mexican beef and bean type soup yesterday. Probably one of the tastier soups I've had. I did have to give them back three or four soup bowls from that stack that hadn't been washed properly though. And there's still a rather interesting drawing in dust in one of the...
