What confuses you the most about award bookings ?

Haha QR website can get confusing if you do not have enough points tho, I hate that about them. I have tried to explain just velocity to my partner and navigating the website is already confusing. I wish there was a podcast/youtube that made it so simple and easy.

    ANA reward availability

That is also a great option. Why not just go with SQ? The ANA hard product to Aus is not that amazing IMO

    ANA reward availability

ANA are notorious for releasing award seats to partners few weeks before. They do random dumps like Qantas too. Maybe book a refundable cash fare??

What confuses you the most about award bookings ?

Saw this thread on reddit and thought it would be interesting to discuss about it. What I think confuses most people is all the alliances and what points are actually are. I started this point journey in 2019 during Covid because I was bored and just went down a rabbit hole of YouTube videos and...

What's going on with reward availability to Europe?

What sense of certainty? They literally do a dump of route randomly. There’s surely no certainty. Don’t forget velocity partners with Singapore which seems to always have good availability out of AUS. You can also convert velocity to krisflyer. IMO, velocity has better chances of getting you to...

What's going on with reward availability to Europe?

Haha eithad did not only do this to velocity. It is for every single member and it was a move to make their own eithad guest miles more valuable. Qantas flies internationally but you can’t even get seats unless for random dump. Qatar-Velocity partnership is the strongest and can generally get...

    Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Do you have a date in mind? i can look for you if it is available before you purchase it. Also, maybe wait for a promo before purchasing. They do one every 3 months now i think.

EVA air to EU- what cards, award flights availability...?

Ohh if you are going in sept i would say you are late to the club. Limited availability but availability opens up a few days to the flight most times. Do you know of seat.aero? If you don't, I think it is a great tool to look for flights and see availability rather than looking at airline...

EVA air to EU- what cards, award flights availability...?

Hey JanP, welcome to the points club. As mentioned above, Aeroplan is a solid program to focus on to get you to Vienna. I just wanted to add that you don't necessarily have to fly out of SYD. Look into other major airport like MEL, BNE and PER. Qatar mostly have good availability with velocity...

    Australia's newest airline? [Wishlist]

They do Newcastle to Sunshine Coast. Not sure of the rest of their route but they definitely don’t do Newcastle to Perth or any of the rest

Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

My little advice would be to try and master Qantas and Velocity program first before going into buying points as you can earn a lot of them in Australia for basically free and wont hurt if you make mistake. I would buy only AA, LATAM and AC points. I just redeemed AA points for a JAL F in Sept...

Any tips for booking business class from Australia to Japan?

It might be a long shot and I know you want direct but worth looking at Singapore to Japan. They sometimes have flights from there. You can reposition to Singapore with scoot or try award booking with velocity. The great thing about AA is you can cancel without any cancellation fee so if you do...
