Short turnarounds: Have you flown back from your destination with the same crew?

Not exactly...but a similar situation. Did a quick SYD-AKL-SYD to lock in Gold on NZ for a series of upcoming long hauls... As we approached AKL one of the FA's started going through connections (we were running a bit late)..she looked at me and said... "Mr trooper... you are connecting to...

    Helsinki to Tallinn reward seats

That might help explain my experience on that flight... 🤣 FASTEST Taxi ive experienced...pilot seemed to be in a real hurry - at both ends! Must have been a light load, that ATR LEAPED into the air... Good fun.

I have a great many pre admittance instructions to follow which are very similar to pre-colonoscopy prep as you say! ...Right down to the "lovely" preparations I have to drink...lol The surgeon involved has performed over 700 of these procedures... and when he sensed my interest he showed me a...

Well. All booked in for the Prostate surgery in July. Or to give it the full title (IIRC) A robotic laparoscopic radical prostatectomy  A bit scary but what can you do....shrug! Not much of a 'trip", it's only the other side of town... but as costly as a nice longhaul return Biz...

    Seat poacher

Had this on an NZ flight AKL-LAX. Exit row aisle seat... and we both had the same seat number on BP's. FA scratched her head and said she'd talk to the senior FA. I quickly pointed out to her that I HAD submitted a points UG request for PE (Hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained 🤣 )and after...

What would you be willing to pay airlines more for?

More pitch is relatively easy... but more WIDTH means less seats per row.. and that IS PE territory... Splitting the Y cabin into sections sounds good... but they'd have to be very careful not to back themselves into a corner where many people bought the "cheap seats" with a reasonable...

Cruise ships leaving behind late returners

Yes, that seems fairly light...but just how much weight would you expect crew members to literally "manhandle"? Baggage is limited to 32kg per piece for OH&S reasons....and most allowances are 23kg... Twice that IS 100 lb. How much weight would you expect those crew members to manage...

Best airline for status on Star Alliance

ONE trip in Economy.....even a multi continent one like that is not VERY likely to gain much in the way of *A Status. Silver maybe? Which unfortunately has few benefits...

    Qantas international Economy Class meals

    What LCC's do that on a 3 hour flight like SYD-AKL? DY didn't ARN-LGW and U2 certainly didn't LGW-GIB....

Perth to Croatia in Business Class

Definitely look at Y to an Asian port then J to somewhere cheap in Europe...and a short Y flight from there. Just playing around you can get, for instance, MNL-IST in J return for AUD$2500. MH will get you to/from MNL in Y for around $600 (longest leg to KUL is under 6 hours) and IST-DBV is 2...

    Traffic infringement in Spain

Got a speeding fine in Chateauroux (south of Paris) Nothing charged by the car rental company, but received the French infringement notice in the mail well after arriving home. (So clearly the rental company had passed on my address) Even though that must have taken a while I was still able to...

How long before a planned flight should you buy a ticket?

Air New Zealand has specials on...ending TODAY...In fact in about 3 and a half hours... (I booked for Late Feb/March to the USA, prices were quite decent in Economy/Premium Economy) Of course it depends on WHERE you are going...;)

Japan to Montreal on OW carriers

And there is no Canadian Oneworld carrier. Looks like you'd have to fly to a US city (DFW/JFK/LGA/ORD) then go on to YUL on AA. OR... with Westjet being some kind of Oneworld partner perhaps you can earn on their flights ..... Edit- NOPE... No status credits. only points. Lol..I was...
