Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Can they use dry ice to store the meals for the return leg? BA does this in Europe for aircraft nightstopping - the breakfasts for the next days early morning flight are loaded in London and stored overnight in the aircraft using dry ice.

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

I've got a LHR>SIN>BKK ticket on QF/3K and despite numerous emails saying they'll review and be in contact with alternative flights, all thats happened is the 3K flight no longer shows in MMB. Hoping they'll reroute LHR>BKK direct on Thai or Eva. lets see.

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

Is there really enough demand for 4 x daily flights to LHR? 2 x Sunrise flights (MEL, SYD) and a flight each from Perth and Singapore(starting either in Syd, Mel or Bne) Some of the current SIN-LHR QF1/QF2 traffic is already fed from flights from Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. Much of that...

New Project Sunrise test flight: Sydney to London over the South Pole in an A380

Next time Qantas talks about net zero and carbon emissions remind them of this unnecessary flight!

New Qantas London First Lounge + other lounge upgrades

Given the layout of T3 I'm not sure where they can have direct boarding to the plane from the lounge, unless they take over the Emirates lounge near gates 1 -5. And that is v unlikely to happen. The rest of terminal is mostly narrow concourses (often with low ceiling heights) with no room for a...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

BA has the same issue with some nightstop flights, it uses dry ice to keep the food chilled overnight before it gets heated on the early morning flight.

Ticketing - not charged all fees?

Hello - I recently made a change to a business class fare ex Bangkok, it wasnt ticketed for a week and when I chased them they sent it to the BKK office and it was promptly ticketed - got new ticket number. Interestingly, the fare rules stipulate a fee for changes which was discussed with call...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Interesting. First class services takes an inordinate amount of time, dont think they've made any recent changes to try and improve speed like they have in J, but what I dont get is it never used take so long to serve meals - back in the halcyon days of QF F i.e. 2010 or so. Back then they had...

    Qantas A380 New Route Speculation

Good question. Prehaps with daily 380 flights to LAX from SYD and MEL, along with JNB and maybe HND and HKG. Maybe DFW as well. These could sustain the 380 fleet but the question arises if Sunrise starts to JFK from MEL and SYD would QF need as much capacity to DFW and LAX!

    Qantas A380 New Route Speculation

I do wonder if they'll continue sending A380s via SIN once the first Sunrise flight commences. Do they have the demand? Most of the higher fare F and J classes will move to the Sunrise flights so I'm not sure if it'll be worth it to send a A380 with lower paying F/J passengers along with a lot...

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

It's more the cost of these BA fares ex London! They are not cheap, and premium leisure customers much more price sensitive than corporate ones. Just can't see how the overall BA proposition - including this change - makes them more appealing to premium leisure customers. Connecting from...

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

The thing is I don't think there are that many high spending leisure travellers for BA, and the BA F/J proposition isn't exactly luxurious - try it once but then either try another carrier or just fly premium economy. BA have a lot of competition going east, much less competition going to the...

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

Can't work out why BA would do this - they've admitted business travel for them still hasn't recovered to 2019 levels and are targeting premium leisure travellers. The Club World experience isn't great, many will try it once and unlike business travellers don't have to use BA or even fly up...

    Qantas First Class menus

QF2 earlier this week. Cauliflower Soup and the Fish main were nice, breakfast was OK with only 4 x Bircher muesli loaded for a full cabin. No wine list loaded but sampled the Lark Classic whiskey which was nice. Crew were fine, although 2 hours after takeoff for the soup to be served, and...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

AirNZ could go AKL-PER-LGW? They have full traffic rights, PER-UK direct is high margin and could help justify their return to the London market from NZ?

Thanks milehighclub. Does QF1/2 to LHR have the new menus yet in F and J ?

    Qantas First Class menus

Thank you! I'm flying next month so will be interested to see if the menus have switched by then. Always thought the scrambled eggs on QF were pretty good in F and J. Anyone know what brand of coffee they are now using ? Used to be Cinque Stelle which was great but I notice its no longer...
