How many AFFers will be on the first JQ787 commercial service MEL OOL Nov 13?

I will make all attempts, if not at work and I can't do the flight I'll be spotting from OOL

nil interest from me ... firstly I'm not in a rush to fly in a tube made from so much composite material and, secondly, it's JQ domestic ex MEL (read "horrible").

(Although I doubt they'll be using the JQd cattle pen for this flight)

Would love to but given I already have leave for a SIN trip on 15Nov not going to happen.

Im going to take a guess that they will use JQ422 ex MEL at 12.15 Arr OOL 13.20 and the return will be on JQ441 ex OOL 14.00 Arr MEL 17.15 . That will give them plenty of time for pre launch activities / promotion / media coverage in MEL and possibly a similar event in OOL. I would probably expect that it would do only the 1 rotation on the day.

I arrive back from LAX that morning. Would hang around to watch, but best I don't keep Chauffeur Driver waiting. If I wasn't traveling that day, still wouldn't get on. Bigger windows doesn't necessarily do it for me!!

1J booked

$24 extra to allocate a seat up front, not to shabby, even if it is only JQ

Yeah the front is pretty much open except for 1A/C and 1J

I haven't booked just yet, sitting on the payment page thinking if I should bother

The return flight is $429!!!! :(

I just locked my flight back to SYD on QF863 @ 12:50pm (2A)

Not sure if I will fly to MEL on the morning of the 13th or go down the night before (will decide later today)

The little "Dreamliner" logo is quite good.

Agree the return pricing is crazy.

I'll be in Los Angeles at the time, but I wouldn't want to be one of their experimental sardines even if it is a new 787.

Seems to be programmed into a few dates at different times (eg. 1510 depart on Sat23Nov) . Some w/end fares are very high.

I'll be joining you if you do!

Looked at the prices, though I can't travel for another 2 weeks beyond that, but $429 from here is astronomical! And then I have so much travel booked it'll be hard to fit something in, but might try it out in December!

I'll be on the flight from Melbourne, but I'm certainly not paying $429 to come back!
