Transit at SIN and Ambassador Hotel

Can someone who has done this please confirm. I am flying into SIN on QF arriving at T1. I then intend to collect my baggage, go to T3, check in to SQ for my flight to Milan. I then have a booking for 6 hours at the ambassador hotel in T3. Is there any issues with customs or immigration with this plan ?

The only potential issue I can think of: will SQ let you check in 6+ hours before your flight?

SQ does early checkin so no issues there. On arrival proceed to the transfer desk and see if they can just reroute your baggage for you to the SQ flight so you don't need to clear customs, then off to the Transit hotel one you have your boarding pass(try and get a room with windows if you can). Very quick and painless -just did this last week on QF to 3K with separate tickets and they were happy to issue the boarding pass 6 hours before the flight.

if your bags are not checked through, and you need to collect and re-check, then you will need to clear customs and immigration, get bags and re-check them.

If your bags are checked through, then you just need to get between terminals on the little train thingy. Easy.
Not sure if Qantas will check your bags on SQ from SYD, but see if they do. If they do, they may not be able to issue you a SQ boarding pass at SYD. If that happens, when you get to SIN, just go to the transit counter in T3 and present your passport & bag check and they will print it for you. I did this in January when I went from coughet to Melbourne via SIN (Silkair onto Qantas) and it was very easy.

Ask at the transfer desk if they can reroute your bags (give them the barcode stickers) if they can't then just get the bags clear customs and go to early check in then reclear immigration.

OK so now clear on the options and we will collect bags, go through immigration, etc, go to T3, check in then head to the Ambassador. Posts seem to suggest that whole process might take an hour tops ?
