I always make sure that I have an AirTag in my checked in baggage after having my checked luggage not make it to the final destination many times over the years. Today however, at Armidale Airport (where I’ve had bags not arrive from Sydney several times before) I was directed to the mybag.aero website to lodge a “Delayed Bag Report”. Usually it was a call, check with SYD and a yep - we’ll put it on the next flight and drive it over to your hotel.
My first foray into the website report and it was less than a friendly experience, questions around the bag, type, customs declarations??? Took me around 10 minutes I reckon. It’s a black hard case with a QTag on it, I checked it in at Brissie I can see on my iPhone that in it’s at Mascot.
Anyway, the CSA at the airport “couldn’t see anything in the system” (unlike the other person there missing their luggage, appears theirs was ‘visible’) and was confident “it will turn up tonight” on the last flight.
Anyway, rant over - I’ve gone to woolies to get some deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush as it’s 50/50 I’ll see it tonight

The saga continues. Was meant to be on the last flight into ARM last night. I was a little surprised when I got a ping from Illawarra on the AirTag. Turns out it went to MEL!
So no bag last night, no clothes and no sleep apnea machine.
Met the local Qantas bloke at my motel last night when he delivered another lost bag which actually made it. Gave me the toiletries kit so at least I had some coughpy PJs.
Fast forward to this morning and bag starts moving north. Landed in SYD around 0730hrs. Got a call from local bloke advising it would be at ARM at 0940. This would t put me out too much more. Meant to be at a work event with work branded gear at a location 45mins away.
Anyway, check at around 0900hrs and bag is still squarely at Mascot T3. Go to ARM Airport and advised that it will be out later today. Beyond toiletries I’ve now had to request an urgent job locally to embroider a shirt for commitments this afternoon.
I’m on an afternoon flight back to SYD for 3 days before back to BNE on Fri.
I’m none the wiser if my bag will it to ARM today before I fly to SYD.
I’m now tired (no sleep machine), out of pocket for clothes, embroidery and the toiletries last night.
Any suggestions on who/where to escalate this? Most likely on deaf ears but starting to wear thin

Final update on the bag…. It finally made it‘s way to ARM… just in time for me to check it in as I was flying to SYD!
I’m glad to report that it made it to SYD and I’ll have my clothes, sleep machine and medicine for the next 3 days until I fly back to BNE.
Still looking to get something out of Qantas for this… my bag racked up more SC than I did already this week. Where’s the best channel to lodge a complaint?
