100 free Velocity points from Europcar

Europcar are offering 100 velocity points on Facebook if you enter and write down what you would do with 1 million velocity points.

You have to like the page first (interesting that only 84 people like them) then write down a short answer. Just completed it so hopefully the points post soon. As soon as I was done, I unliked them.

Easy way to get 100 points. Says post in 30 days and Aus/NZ only.

2. Please ensure that your full name and Velocity number entered matches the exact details on your Velocity membership otherwise points can not be added to your account. If you have not received your 100 velocity points after 30 days please contact [email protected], please provide your full name and Velocity membership number.

Once you liked the page a new page is shown that allows you to enter the details of your velocity membership!

If you have already liked Eurpocar, then go to the Europcar page, and there should be a link to the 100 free points. Click on that, add the app, and it will prompt you.

Not for me ... straight to thankyou screen ... and there's no entry when I go to the page as suggested.

Same for me. Clicked like, got to the app authorisation, and then back to the same page as before asking me to click 'like'. Can’t get to the next step…

The app doesn’t load, even after I give it access to my details, I think that’s the problem!

Edit: Reloaded a dozen times before the app started working, so perhaps they’re getting some traffic?

Slightly OT, It's always interesting when corporates want to embrace "social media" only to find they've provided a direct channel for angry customers to vent,.. A good business responds well and listens to thier customers but the majority just edit the posts and delete the negative posts.... IMHO a very big challenge for Europcar as I don't think I've had 1positive booking where nothing was stuffed up (even as a corporate client with high status level) ...

Same for me Mal I have stopped renting with them because of continuous issues with rentals and points crediting. It is tough for business to get social media right in a lot of cases but if done correctly can be a very useful and powerful marketing tool. I will like the page to get back at least 100 points that they owe me but as soon as I receive the points I will unlike the page.

It's a bit hard for me to like Europcar after they ripped me off for an extra day's rental, because their return processing recorded us bringing the car back a day later than we did (and also downgraded the car from the one we booked!!). We are partly to blame ( or at least the wife was) for not retaining the paperwork after dropping the car off!! And no points either despite recording our Velocity# in the booking!!

Thanks Oz_Mark, too easy!

I think i'll wait for points to show before un-liking.. maybe add a bit of Europcar feedback before i leave as well. Even on a corporate account, the rentals are always painful & more restrictive than Avis - I'd only use them these days if Avis doesn't have a suitable vehicle available.
