This is a little OT but I'm sitting in the US right now and on EF there is an ad for QF who are advertising:
Fares start from $589* each way based on round trip travel in Economy[/h]Visit Auckland on your way to or from Australia. Other travel dates are available at a different fare. Offer ends
Wednesday, 20 July 2011 (unless stated otherwise).
Book your flights today! Seats are limited.
Departures from Los Angeles
* All prices are quoted in US dollars. Prices listed include the fare plus $500 fuel surcharge. US/foreign taxes and fees, including September 11th Security Fee of up to $10, are an additional $140 to $210, depending on itinerary. Seats are very limited and are not available on every flight. No minimum stay, maximum stay 12 months subject to system range limitation between 330 to 350 days from departure date. Add-on fares are available from North American cities that are not Qantas gateways. No refunds. Date changes are permitted for a fee of $200 per person per change. Fares valid from 29 June to 20 July 2011.
Information correct as at 29 June 2011 and subject to change without notice.
There may be lower fares or other travel dates available but not enough seats to allow us to advertise. If your travel dates are flexible, use the 'Flexible with dates' option to find the best airfare.
^ For Destination Australia: Percentage discount based on comparison to Qantas year-round published fare SLRT from Los Angeles to Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne for travel between 31 July and 10 September 2011; Qantas year-round SKRT from Dallas/Fort Worth to Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne from travel between 1 February and 31 March 2012.
