Nope, not Apr 1…

Surprised Akbar wanted anything to do with the miles currency of a ‘low cost carrier’.

Interesting
Have been working where to credit QR trip to UK in May
Potential to get OWS with BA but may be better off now crediting to QR for the Avios
Dusting off slide-rule

Edit: Slide rule says ~12k Avios each way with QR Plat or BA blue so looks like will still credit to BA. Understand earn rate is staying the same

Are they just adopting the name Avios or is this currency now able to be used across all those carriers BA, QR & IB?

Is it the first step in a Avios becoming the Oneworld currency?

+ Aer Lingus I believe.
That will be quite interesting.

That might make it easier to request upgrades on another *O carrier. Something that has been bandied about for years, but never seen anything eventuate.

Just received this from BAEC

Given that there are no Australian credit cards from which points can be transferred to BA does anybody know if there are any that will send to Qatar?

The only one is (was?) the Citi Prestige card.

Not really that useful to most Australians, unfortunately.
