During the promotional period of 12:01AM AEST on 30 March 2022 to 11:59PM AEST 30 April 2022 (Offer Period), Velocity members will earn 10 bonus Status Credits when they make an eligible Points redemption. An eligible Points redemption is one in which a minimum of 4,000 Points is redeemed in one transaction from either the Velocity Rewards Store, Velocity Wine Store by Laithwaite's, Europcar or Ascenda (Hotels) during the Offer Period. This offer is only available to Velocity members, and members can only make one eligible Points redemption during the Offer Period. Members who have selected family pooling will have their Status Credits pooled from Contributing Accounts to the Beneficiary account. Find out more about Family Pooling here. Please allow up to 4 weeks after the end of the Offer Period for your Status Credits to be credited. Velocity members also need to fly on Virgin Australia marketed flights to earn Eligible Sectors in addition to Status Credits to upgrade or maintain a new level of Velocity membership. The Status Credits will be earned in addition to any Velocity Points earned on the Eligible Purchase. To earn Velocity Points and Status Credits, you must be a Velocity member. What's funny is that the offer period coincides with the 2 year anniversary of everyone offloading their points at the VFF rewards store.

By them offering this, and for those who take it up, its moving a long term asset off us, and a liability to them, to become a thing that's worth one year, only 10 SC, add on for flights or FB, and in one year, the worth of it is used up.
I will not be taking up the offer, will wait and see how their partnership with ANA will pan out, over the next 12 months.

I value that 4000 VFF points more than 10 VFF SC.
SC in itself does not give access to upgrades, or to J class seats, but multiples of that 4000 VFF points can be used to get up to J.
