Do you know how it compares on a groupwide basis?

Would Qanstar be then ahead of SQoot?

I think Scoot have in the order of 20-30 flights a week in total from MEL/SYD/OOL/PER, but not sure how many JQ/3K have.

If we look at it on a group basis, Scoot also has more international flights to/from Australia than Jetstar & Jetstar Asia.

Scoot currently has 30 flights per week to/from Australia:
  • 10x weekly SYD-SIN
  • 10x weekly MEL-SIN
  • 7x weekly PER-SIN
  • 3x weekly OOL-SIN

Jetstar currently has 29 international flights per week to/from Australia:
  • 2x weekly MEL-HNL
  • 3x weekly SYD-HNL
  • 4x weekly MEL-DPS
  • 2x weekly SYD-DPS
  • 4x weekly MEL-SIN
  • 2x weekly PER-SIN
  • 2x weekly DRW-SIN
  • 3x weekly MEL-HKT
  • 3x weekly SYD-HKT
  • 4x weekly SYD-NAN

Was a time when CX served more airports with international flights than QF did. For example CX had flights from ADL where Air Sydney (aka Qantas) did not.

You have forgotten about PER SIN and DRW DIL ........ started this week for QF

Thank you for pointing this out and good pickup. I've updated the article.

This brings the Qantas international departures for this week to 97 - still below Singapore's 102 flights.

What about SYD/BNE - NLK ? It does depart from the INT terminal :p

They also offer a way better flight experience (though their call centres are not that much better than Qantas’ in my experience). Plus, having spent half my childhood in Singapore, they’re a ‘tertiary’ home carrier of sorts to me.

So given the bad experience on Qantas lately (ever tried to call them recently, even as a WP?), I’ve now booked two of my major trips this year on SQ. And I am 99.9% sure that I will not regret this decision in the slightest.

I could not find any Sydney to Singapore flights on Qantas in June for various dates I tried - the only options are via MEL. Has Qantas further reduced flights even with SQ operating up to 4x daily? Crazy.

Ended up booking on ScootBiz.

wow what a hard choice Singapore airlines or Qantas for international travel /s

its an embarrassment we call Qantas "our national airline"

Singapore airlines coughs all over Qantas any day of the week. Their soft and hard product is top of the line, in the same league as the gulf carriers like Qatar and Emirates and other Asian carriers like JAL or Cathay
