And here

Refundable fare with 6 months validity for cheap nested BIZ returns originating from the EU. Credits to VA and AA @ 17,512 Miles and earns 480 VA status credits. That’s a good chunk toward Plat requal.

I think for the price that the Oman Air sale ex KUL - if it’s still live - would be the better choice of carrier. Etihad is good, but their hub at AUH really lets them down.

Maybe… similar prices but a few nuances. The Oman biz suite is much better than Etihad‘s product and the ground experience better too. I haven’t checked frequency or transit times, but people might also highly value the ability to credit to a local airline. To each their own.

Personally I wouldn’t fly to or out of KUL, but that’s just me.

I don’t mind KUL to transit through.
Agree that the WY product is a fair bit nicer but as you said if you want to be able to credit it to VA then it makes sense

Interesting commentary on the FT thread. Makes this fare a lot more attractive.

“works for ZRH as well. It makes it even more interesting with the existing Commercial Waiver for COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) with EY (https://www.etihadhub.com/en-ae/news...r-covid-19-v21). Meaning you can change date and departure as the arrival airport for free. So somebody looking for BKK-ZRH-BKK or any other departure airport from the same region as (HKG, SEL, NRT, NGO MNL, BKK, HKT).”

Looks like there’s also some options in/out of AMS for a little bit more with reasonably good connections.
