Booked a F/J QFF points ticket for SYD-CHC on 2 Dec and 4 Dec this year as they were due to start from 1 Dec with their A380.

Received an email this morning that flights have been cancelled and a quick check on Emirates website doesn't show any even in early January. What a dissapointment and now I guess it's a waiting game for points and carrier costs to be refunded.

Ah, that sucks. I was also closely watching that as it seemed to have lots of availability.
Was hoping it would return earlier, but not sure now when it will return now.
Edit: looks like showing availability from 27/03, so maybe at the start of the next norther summer season.

Seems like it is on the news now.

Interesting that looking at the EK412/EK413 rotations on FR24, it looks like the aircraft sits on the ground from 6am to 9pm every time in SYD.

QFF may put you on a QF service. So check they do not do that. Big difference A380 F to B737 J.
Not only that the departure times all suck on QF. One of the benefits of flying EK was the favourable arrival time into CHC.

Oh how annoying, so glad I didn’t get tempted to book the other day.

I remember that I had several flights booked on EK back when they rather suddenly pulled out of the SYD-AKL route. Re-booked on Qantas which is, well, light years behind, even on the A330s and even more so on the 737.

Better holding off with CHC for a while then…

I also got hit with this cancellation - on a paid ticket - booked via AmEx travel - all other options look dismal - who want to pay (more) for QF 737 J or travel via AKL on NZ.

Another one hit with this cancelation. Points ticket, happily sitting in 1A on 11 & 13 March. Rebooked 13 & 16 April 1K. Data point - QFF points were refunded same day and $’s within two days :)

Never mind, they say every cancellation cloud has a silver lining. Think of the reduction in neurological and optical damage from the new (polarising?) decor and faux wood panelling.
