I was hoping that once Croatia adopted the EURO as the official currency, I would be able to search the Qantas website for flights departing from Croatia, but that is still not the case.
Qantas previously told me that I couldn't search for flights departing from Croatia as the official currency wasn't supported, so the only way was to call to make the booking.
I just tweeted Qantas, so let's see if they respond.
 
Romania and Bulgaria have just joined the Schengen Area as well.

I visited Romania last November. So I guess I got my passport stamped just in time. :)

There are several countries within the EU that have not adopted the Euro.

And membership of the EU and of Schengen is not mutual either.

Switzerland is an example. Not a member of the EU and not using the Euro but a member of Schengen.

Sweden is an example. A member of the EU and of Schengen but not using the Euro.
