EK is now back in CHC but I'm surprised QF still has up to 2 daily flights between SYD and CHC?

Yeah, very surprising especially as the dates we have been looking at it’s the same price in J for the EK A380 as it is for the QF B737.
Bit of a no brainer I’d think unless the timings don’t suit

Or you needed to book on QF metal to take advantage of DSCs like I did.

If the prices are the same (on a QF booking) make the most of it while you can. Before this flight was cancelled due to Covid Qantas were charging substantially more for Syd-Chc on the Emirates plane than what they were on their own metal

When I looked this morning it seems that they are on sale and the EK flights are now about $100 more expensive than the QF flights.
More than happy to pay the extra though

I’ve got J rewards coming up soon with the family for Easter holidays. No brainer over Qantas irrespective of timing and looking forward to the experience blowing the little peoples minds in my family.

If Qantas had been the only choice I wouldn’t have bothered with J and booked Y.

There’d be a few people on non-QF oneworld tickets or wanting oneworld status recognition that would choose QF over EK.

Throw in a small number of Aussies who refuse to fly a Middle East airline.

And EK lounge
Is it open though?
The emirates website says that the Syd EK lounge is only open from 4-6am and from 5-9pm so I was assuming passengers would have to use the QF lounge, unless the website has not been updated.

When we checked in for SYD-CHC two weeks ago they directed us to the EK Lounge. However went to QF F due to WP status.

Having a look at the past performance, seems like the SYD-CHC leg of EK412 is almost always departing late. I wonder why that is?

Does it arrive in SYD about on time?

Will be doing F both ways on this in four weeks time.

Is there any chance I'll be able to use the shower or will that be limited?

Aware there will be no caviar (sadly)
