I've booked, all on the one ticket, QF MEL - SYD J, QF1 SYD - LHR J, and I have requested a points upgrade to F. If by some miracle😇 I get the upgrade, will I be able to use the Melbourne F check-in suite? I'm departing MEL 15 July.

I’d think they’d get you to go to the international connections desk in T1 instead - can someone confirm?

(Fingers crossed for your upgrade)

You are departing MEL domestic terminal, so they will check bags through to LHR from there. No need for you to be at MEL First suite / Intl Terminal, even though it is a short walk from domestic.
The F Suite check in desk is nothing special, just a private room off the kerbside. Not sure if the Intl terminal has the ability to sort bags from Intl to Domestic anyway (it's usually only the other direction). If you get the upgrade, you are best focussed on getting to SYD to enjoy the F lounge.

No you will check in at the Domestic terminal at MEL.

Yes, "Domestic connection to International" counter(s) in the Qantas domestic terminal T1.

Also note that checking in at least 90 minutes before scheduled Domestic departure is recommended.

A similar question: can a WP departing from the international terminal on the QF9 domestic leg to PER use the F check-in suite?

This is good news, especially as someone who seems to travel with more luggage than ideal. I expected they'd just permanently close it, so well done to QF.

The Suite was closed last week but was scheduled to reopen at any time now.

I know my first question seems to have been answered, but confirming as Platinum member on a MEL > SYD > International, I can’t use the dedicated first check in counter and instead I use the International desk at domestic at MEL?

Second question - I have 2.35 hour layover is Sydney. Is this enough time to transfer to the international terminal and make my way to the first lounge?

If not, would it be worth changing my first flight to one an hour earlier?

Thanks in advance :)
