Article: Earn Frequent Flyer Points for Shopping Online

I don’t do a lot of online shopping but I invariably forget to go via QF shopping when I do…😔

I think there's two models for earning airline points/miles - the cookies/click-through options discussed in the article, as well as separately hosted shopping (earn and burn sites) such as Qantas Marketplace and KrisShop - some more in-depth analysis of the value/points earn in various platforms would have been good ;)

Does anyone have any insight into what data (if any) the points prompter harvests from you while you are using the browser just generally?
It collects at least your web history, and you'll have to enable to cookies to use QF shopping (from the Google Chrome Extension page). Beyond that I doubt it would collect anything else, as it only really highlights that you could get QF points from this purchase, then directs you to QF shopping. It could also possibly use your web history to show 'tailored' recommendations/ads, but that's similar to every other website these days.

I have to fight for every transaction under Qantas....sometimes for months. It registers under "click history" through my browser, but never seems to transfer to shopping history.
So after a month, I have to submit a request to ask why its not reflecting.

Some orders, like Nespresso, are the exact same every month, some go through, some get declined. Nespresso said it shouldn't be declined, Qantas "investigates" for months.

When they do rectify it, its the wrong points amount, so a few more emails to rectify that.

Well, looks like Godfreys has gone into administration, and my points claim for a 2.5K Robovac was almost 3 months old already. 7x points promo.

QF was emailing me once a week saying they were still investigating.

I'm assuming QF won't be giving me the points if Godfreys don't pay for them, and I doubt they'll be doing that now.

Update, they just credited (over 17K points).

Wonder if QF stepped in to honour the points, or perhaps mine slipped through before the administrators turned the tap off (purchase was Nov so it's been a while, but still within the 3 months)
