I'll remember to ask for the chef’s specials next time!

Nice article looking at the personalities that *make* Qantas!

... and I'll be the first to ask: as someone who usually arrives at least jaded - and sometimes severely jet-lagged and orders something familiar from the menu, what are examples of "Not all of the chef’s specials are printed on the menu. But they are available if you know to ask!"??

Regards,

BD

Great article. I’ve always really enjoyed the food at the SIN lounge and Chef Linda’s shrimp paste chicken wings are a must for me whenever it’s on the menu.

Generally only PAX in First / CL / P1 get offered off menu items, but it can't hurt to ask.

(In SYD they have a special printed menu for such.)

The shrimp paste chicken wings should never have been taken off the menu. It is to SIN QF First lounge, what salt and pepper squid is to SYD First lounge.

I'm not sure if this counts as a "ask and you shall receive" thing - but in my last 2 visits, I asked if the Chef could do a vegan fried rice for me and I was provided with the best tasting vegan fried rice :) In both instances, the wait staff said that they will need to check with the Chef and in both instances they came back with a hot bowl of vegan fried rice, with a side of chilli :)
