Qantas to Schedule Airbus A380s on 8 Domestic Routes

Qantas will schedule double-decker Airbus A380s onto eight domestic routes from later this year, including Melbourne-Perth and Sydney-Melbourne.

Following a successful trial during the recent Taylor Swift tour, the A380s will be scheduled onto busy domestic routes. This concept can already be seen in Japan, where Japanese airlines routinely use wide-body jets for domestic flights.

Japan can board a 500 seat domestic config 777 in 8 minutes. It would take Australia 2 hours to board a domestic A380 (when they only have access to 1 sky bridge to do so instead of 3)
