Flight attendant reveals ‘gobsmacking’ act — news.com.au
Drunk passengers, medical emergencies and blow-ups over ham-and-cheese toasties. It’s all in a day’s work for Qantas and Virgin flight attendants.
Quote: The day-to-day reality
For one thing, flight crew are exposed to sickness at elevated rates – the inescapable effect on working in a contained aluminium tube crammed with hundreds of other people.Unquote.
I didn’t realise we (the travelling Australian Public) were that bad. Also I didn’t know the hourly rate was under 30 AUD per hour. This is so underwhelming but it explains a lot, I hope they do get there pay increase and like for like job pay balance. Please feel free to contribute observations including but not limited to feet on the bulkhead behaviour of some of our very finest. Can you imagine performing CPR and then being tapped on the shoulder to be asked where is my breakfast?
