Yes I have wired connection for the bluetooth headphones.
We have 4 headphones and I got a 4 pack of adaptors from Amazon so we're all set.

Yep if you want wireless you need bluetooth adapters - they're easy to get off amazon:

Some of them will even allow dual connection, so if they're watching something on the Screen (or even used with your Ipads headphone adapter) can have two of them listening together. I found this useful over a 8hr car ride where they wanted to play on the Ninentdo switch together.

OP has already mentioned wired and wireless are supported on their headphones, probably Bose or similar.
