This seemed like a great deal when comparing 6,900 typically needed for SYD-MEL... yes or no?

I decided to take advantage of it... but am now wondering if I should have waited for a different destination to come along at a similar rate...

Do these Velocity specials appear often?

thanks,
--Russ

PS. I got another promo to earn tripple velocity points if I book a flight by tonight... so I'm actually contemplating paying double what I would have normally considered paying when flying SYD-MEL-SYD. :p

Great deal, especially for only 2000.

Where is the info about the "Triple Points" dealo?

Its one of those "you have been selected (hand-picked: wow!) for this special offer" deals...

In fact the fine print reads that its valid only on qualifying fare classes... but no specific detail is given what the qualifying fare class is...

And thanks to the "swine-flu" happy hour special I booked two trips to Melbourne for the price I was prepared to pay for one. And on flights that I actually wanted to take but were way too expensive otherwise. (I'm talking two weekend trips for under $200 return)

Sweet!

LOL... sadly accomodation won't be so accomodating!

$300/per night for the cheapest place on the island...

I wonder if I can look up Ben and see if he'd let me crash on the floor of his dream job mansion?

Am I better off catching a ferry to one of the Whitsundays hostels ($60/per night) plus $50/per trip on the ferry?

This is one of those things I booked first and thought about later.

Book your accom closer to the travel date - there will be deals - the whole world is on sale.

Depending upon how many people you are travelling with, check out rental houses on the island, not just the hotel rooms. The houses often include golf buggies and airport transfers.

**OASIS 13** - Hamilton Island - Queensland Islands, QLD $265/nite, two bedroom.

Accom on hamo can be a finicky thing. Depends on the dates you have booked. Did you only book 1 night? Got a Stay Pay running at work at the moment for Hamo but its 5for4 so probably no help.

Some of the individual houses you might get cheaper than the normal Resort hotels but obviously thats not the same!

yeah ur all good. Just checked and everything we have that is contracted with rooms is available. cheapest would be $648 for two nights.

if you want cheap cheap you could probably find something on the mainland cheaper but you would need to pay for the ferry over to the mainland (about $55 each way including a bus through to airlie beach with Cruise Whitsundays) so in that case may not work out as cheap!
