Whilst booking 4 'U' class return trips PER-MEL through the QFF call centre, the person mentioned that I would not incur the usual 2,500 point penalty for date/time changes as I was a silver QFF.

Is this correct?

If so, can I change all the tickets (even those for family members who are bronze status) with no point penalty?

I believe that if they are tickets booked from your account you should be able to change them.

You cannot re-route an issued ticket without a points penalty. I believe the points penalty applies to all elite status levels.

As long all the award bookings were made using a Silver Status's (or better) Frequent Flyer Points they can each have their dates/times altered without penalty.

However, SXC is correct, you cannot voluntary re-route an issued ticket without a points penalty.

Can someone please point out to me where this is so.

I have looked at these places...

I do not believe this benefit of FF status is documented anywhere on the QF FF web site. It may have been in some printed material. But it is honoured by the reservations agents.

As long as they don't quote "Assisted Award Booking Fee 2,500 Points per passenger" from the Fee Schedule.

I'm Silver Club so I'm going to enjoy changing my tickets on Feb 1.

I have just spoken to Qantas and I can confirm that as long as I do not change my routings and travellers names then I can make a change to the DATE of my travel without penalty.

The point penalty is still there for changes, but it is one of the things they "don't worry about" and "waive" for Silvers and above, for date changes.

If it requires a ticket re-issue or cancellation you will still get hit though, but date changes will be fine.
