You read the title correctly.

I just found a room somewhere in the world for $2 per night on lastminute.com.au. Once I picked my jaw up off the ground, I booked and payed for about 10 nights. My question is, do they have to honour the price displayed? Normally these rooms are $700 a night, so I'm obviously assuming this is an error on their behalf.

Will let you in on my little secret if I get back some good news from you guys

Cheers

See what happens,

They should but it will be interesting to see what there T&C's say

It would probably depend on the hotel I would imagine. These IT glitches happen from time to time and usually they are honoured for PR purposes.

Was it prepaid or not?

Back in the good old Perth days before prices skyrocketed I booked a $12/night room at the then Hilton over the December cricket test.
Was an early booking and I think it was meant to be $120/night.

Checked in and nothing said,
then on checkout they tried to present me with a much higher bill (Like $200/night)

I stood my ground and got rate honoured.

From the T&C's, so I would say this all depends on whethere the provider allows, but let us all know where so we can all complain!

It's always a good move when you get an amazing deal that is obviously a mistake to go and talk about it in a public forum.

I had a $22 room in a 5* hotel in SYD last year that I think should have been $222. I had no trouble checking in and it was honoured without question. Sorry I can't remember the name.

Always happy to receive a PM with the hotel name if it still available. ;)

Who wouldn't be happy to get a PM! I know I would ;)

If you can't remember the name what about the location? xD

I found the old booking reference - Hyde Park Inn family room, $27.50 (I think the decimal place slipped left).

It was for a stay last October and I have not been able to find similar since - that is why I am happy to post the info.

It was booked on last minute.com, and it just goes to show that it pays to keep an eye out for the odd strange rate.

Awww, I thought we could all play a game and try and find the hotel. :( Thanks for ruining the party :P

Now you should have let me in on the game before it started.

If you like you could guess where I stayed July 2012 (in Sydney). It was walking distance from Darling Harbour, and someone attending the same meeting as me, for the same reason as me, had the same name as me, was staying at the same hotel as me! This caused a little confusion at check-in as the staff were convinced I was already checked in.

(Didn't think you'd still have or look up the invoice... whoops)

-gives up-

Oh dear, sorry about that.

(Hint: If you know my real name [no I am not a 'Tam'] you could google me/her and work out what would draw us to SYD then (and in 2015))

"I just found a room somewhere in the world for $2 per night on lastminute.com.au"

Nice spot, I found one in my younger days (16/17 yo) that was a $245 p/n room at $45 in a 5 star hotel room in Adelaide (where I live).

It was a typo and it was on the website 'needitnow' I think.

I had a very attractive girlfriend at the time and not enough privacy so it was probably the best $45 I had ever spent! :D

They had no issue with the rate but they did confiscate the free bottle of champagne on arrival because I was underage, come to think of it I think I put the deposit for the room down in cash because I didn't have a credit card. Holy **** I feel old now.
