FRom a velocity special offer :
"Unlimited access to 2 for 1 Business Flexi Companion fares when you fly with V Australia and code-share partner Delta5"

Anyone have experience with this? Is the bought ticket really expensive to get the "free" ticket? If not this would be very attractive...

At the risk of sounding like OP's echo - anybody bought this fare combination as yet?

Am looking at dates later in year and thought it might have been a possibility - but it still doesn't appear to stack up.

Would be kinda silly if Velocity are offering this as a feature of new Velocity Amex if indeed it doesn't stack up - or nobody takes it up.

This may seem like the blind leading the blind but it seems after researching that the first fare is pretty expensive. If you needed a fully flexible fare for some reason it would work, otherwise heavily discounted business is generally best..

Yes even to a simpleton like me that is obvious.

But I am looking for 2 fares - that is why I thought the '2 for 1' as listed as a feature in the Velocity Amex may have been a viability - but it does not appear so - what am I missing here?

I did a test booking and one heavily discounted business fare was $8000 or so, and I'm pretty sure the full fare was something like twice as much. Perhaps that was a one-off. Eventually I hope to go to an American meeting each year with my wife in J so it sounded like a great offer. If you test it out and there are good discounts please let me know on this thread.
