2 separate reward bookings - should I combine?

Just whether I'm over thinking this.... I booked a reward ticket SQ SYD->SIN return, and a separate SQ SIN->MLE return ticket which is a connection to the first to get SYD->MLE. Should I try and get these combined - if that makes any difference? thanks

You can't combine the bookings (only link the PNRs) unless you cancel and rebook. Both tickets are on SQ anyway who AIUI will protect the connection anyway and check baggage through.

Thanks - yes poor choice of words on my behalf. I was thinking about linking the PNRs. QQ if I can - what/who is "AIUI"?
